@@UnknownGamer40464 Unfortunately the statute for intent is high. Had the guys who busted EDP let law enforcement take over and catch him in the act, he would be in jail. Unfortunately though, for all the good intentions they had, they actually did him a favor by not working with the police. They basically fucked it all up. Granted they got him flat out cancelled on the internet and ruined his reputation, but vigilanteism isn't exactly a good thing either. They should have handed over all the evidence to police or an organization that works with the police for these types of things. Insterad they pretty much gave him a solid defense and there's virtually nothing that can be done about it now unless he's genuinely caught in the act by law enforcement.

I think that if he stopped seeking social media attention and instead helped resolve just a bit of the issue by becoming an activist of some sort, he could have a little redemption arc going on. Of course time has shown that he doesn't actually care, and just focuses on shooing the "incident" away, which means he's still probably a predator. @@munkeykung8971 That lame rulebook keeps police from surveilling us 24/7 or busting into our homes whenever they want to and looking for whatever they want. For our protection, there has to be an order to these kinds of things or way more people would end up being hurt. With that in mind, yes, it was entirely their faults. The rules for investigations didn't just materialize, it was their own negligence that soiled the investigation. You can't just blame it on the system when those guys were never working within it in the first place.
