It makes me sad some of our youth do not understand those that received Pell are coming from the lowest income levels. It is a struggle for many of us but, those students would have never had the opportunity to attend college. We would all love to see this expanded to all but, until Democrats have power and are pushed by progressives it will never happen. It all begins somewhere. It is a beginning.

I live in Germany. People say college or university education here is free, but that’s not entirely true, because obviously it’s paid for by our taxes. Nobody here that I know complains about that, we take it for granted that our taxes go toward such programs as well as to the healthcare and social security of those that can’t afford to pay into the system. Germany is second to the US when it comes to taking in immigrants. Obviously there are selfish people here, too, especially when it comes to immigrants, but overall we are a “we” society, rather than a “me” society. Germans call it a solidarity society, and I love that term. That’s the way it should be, and the way Christ would’ve wanted it to be… and I’m not even a Christian. Shame on those who call themselves Christians, yet are filled with petty jealousy and anger toward the less fortunate for getting a few benefits from the state to support them.
