instrumentaali why does it make you cry? I agree with you , for me it’s more the music that Juxtaposes it than the actually concept , what’s your reasoning?
I always expecting everything to go south in one of those flashbacks. Some sign of abuse or something he had towards his creation. Then I saw heart and star shaped cookies. By the end I couldn't believe I had ever thought such things from the Inventor.
Vincent Price was actually a very accomplished gourmet cook. It gives me a certain satisfaction to know that my love of food and cooking was shared with one of my favorite genre's true immortals.
He has great commentary on the entire movie. He said this scene was particularly tricky because all the parts of the machine had different tempos he had to fit the music into.
CharChar why is it depressing , it fascinates the hell out of me , every individual finds different things in the film depressing , why does this depress you
@@goosebumpskid1281 Well, the reverse of what we usually think of cyborgs. He's like a robot Frankensteind monster, except we aren't sure how much is artificial or not.
The music score is *perfect* it begins grim with the sounds of the machines very loud to whimsy to more delicated with the machines fading in the background. I loved it
Edward Scissorhands is not only one of my favorite scores of all time, but this particular track is one of my all time favorite tracks! It's perfection!
I like how he gives all his inventions a face, kinda like he gave them a personality and how please & happy he is with inventions. But I love it when he holds up the cookie and gets the idea for his greatest invention.
it actually has a meaning. cookies are unhealthy but celery is a healthy food which made that robot standing out for being good as well which made it the perfect choice for life
I feel some kinship with him. I like to share things that makes me happy with a smile on my face. If that thing is with a creation (in my case drawingsnandnideas for stories) I feel excited and happy like a child.
Vincent Price was truly one of the best actors ever. Not just in the horror genre, but of all time. I'm so glad that this film was his last because it's truly a great send off for Price. It's almost like he passed the torch to Johnny Deep in this movie too. What I love about this movie is character of Edward, he is a creepy looking fella but is so innocent. He is truly is an outcast like most characters in Tim Burton movies like Pee Wee, Batman & Vincent (his short movie)
I love this scene too because you totally understand everything when he simply holds the cookie heart up to the machine's chest. It's amazing. The machines appear rough and intimidating, but then you realize they have the most innocent and sweet purpose behind them (just like Edward). This is one of my most favorite movies. Every time I watch it it keeps me thinking.
The late, great Vincent Price looked almost as if he was enjoying himself on set while they were shooting this scene, like as if he was having a lot of fun the set of Edward Scissorhands. It clearly looks as if he's having a blast😊 It's too bad that this was his last film before he passed away though😢
The Inventor, a man of great intelligence and keen engineering skills, atop the dreary castle that looms over suburbia and it's pastel horizons, has everything he wanted. Machines that can make the best cookies with love and care, in every shape and size imaginable. Even machines to cut his greens and assemble a nice salad. But not a legacy. The machines may rust and falter, but not a son. Yet, the Inventor thought, once upon a Christmastime, if he could build machines, why not a son... A son named Edward?
the most applicable thing to create is life, in order to have children is but the far chance dream of those that had passion for creation and artistic view with the tools of both the mind and a set of hands.
@EVN12383 I've thought about that too, I just imagine that since that was his home, he's simply just reminded of his dad from the can opener, and then the movie just takes the opportunity to explain Edward's creation.
@barchetta575m You misunderstood me. I meant that if we split cookie makin into two sections, then at first it looks as if a cookie cake was, shall we say, liquid type (hence the egg beaters). But in the second section, the cake turns out into solid one. It's impossible to turn a liquid cake into a solid one.
My thought is that the Inventor - many years ago - built all of that so he could make all kinds of food and then, whenever there was a fair or festival going on down below in (what is now) Suburbia, he would load it all onto a cart and journey down the mountain to sell it all; then he would use the moneys for upkeep of the mansion or to build more machines. But... then, he grew old, the fairs slowly faded as times changed, he couldn't make the journey any more...
Most actors, once they're older, just kind of read through their lines. They're still believable, but they can't contribute much emotion. But Vincent is great in this scene. He isn't like that at all. He's clearly still getting into it just as much as he did in the 50's and 60's and giving it his all, despite his age and health problems. His simple and small performance is what really makes this movie for me.
I wanna help Edward giving some nice hands. I'd experiment everything for wonderful great working hands all day and night. Just to see him very happy..
Apart from the fact that adding the egg to this type of cake doesn't make much sence, I admit that the scene perfectly shows how the inventor got an idea of creating Edward.
so is that chopping robot at the end supposed to be before edward became a person? because in a later scene where he reads to edward, you see that same robot..
