@@LookSimplyDifferent I did, and liked both (although I haven’t seen the current Part 2 yet). But that’s different, because the source for both is the DUNE series of books by Frank Herbert. If more than one filmmaker wants to make a movie of a book, that’s fine with me. In fact, I’d love to see my 5 favorite directors do film versions of the same book, because you’d get 5 radically different interpretations. But ES was always and only a film project-Tim Burton’s unique “intellectual property”. Remaking it is like rewriting Frank Herbert’s books: WHY?

You see. You are probably 12 but this movie shaped my youth, to see it be butchered like all the other remakes is utterly disgusting and inconciderable, it may not affect you but there will be people expecting to see edward scissorhands, only to be dissapointed and to even ruin their experience, everytime they watch the old movie. Remaking something is insinuating that something is wrong with the original, we know nothing can be improved on other than image quality which you can do a remaster. The original movie does not need to be remade, it was perfect and there is nothing new that needs to be added to it. One of the most memorable scenes in cinema to me is Winona Ryder walking outside and Edward is making it snow and she looks so happy and like spins in it. I loved that scene I thought it was beautiful. Doesn’t need a remake or reboot.

Now I have had enough it was bad enough that they tried to remake gene wilders version of Willie Wonka then it was road house remake now they are saying Johnny Depp was not good enough I am so angry Edward Scissorhands was a cult classic why can’t they leave the original movies alone to remain timeless classics there is no originality left anymore in Hollywood now they are making racial character changes

Copy and paste yet again. Why do all these remakes look the same??? The originals all felt original can you believe, yet all these sequels and remakes born of nostalgia all looks like they were made in the same lab...

I know this is just a concept, but I hope no ever tries to remake this movie. Edward Scissorhands is perfect as it is and it’s a classic. Some movies shouldn’t be touched. No one will ever be Edward quite like Johnny- period.
