To many people, they may seem weird. That's because we aren't used to seeing people express themselves freely because we are so used to following the rules of society. To me, this is really refreshing to see. :)
I wish more people would understand that living like this is the only way to true happiness. The rules of society teach us the hate each other cause where different. These people love each other because they are uniek
I still remember that first time I heard this band, it was back in 09. I was seriously stuck at the time, no job, no money, and no love (given out or back to me). This album, along with a major overhaul of what I want and what I need, led me to where I am now. I have a successful career, living in hawaii, with my beautiful wife...and her and I jam to HOME quite frequently. But this has always been my favorite song, and performance of this song. God bless these individuals. Mahalo!
this band is truly the gretest thing i've listened so far... so much dept in their music and it isn't even planned... they just having a good time in complete ignorance of all the lives they are changin and all the people they make happy
why is everyone talking about jade being "weird"? has anyone noticed alex? he's "weird" too. he dances. watch their performance of 40 day dream at bonnaroo. tell me he is not "weird". but to me, it's the beautiful kind of weird. because you can just tell how much these guys are into their music. there is something incredibly special about this group of musicians. it's not weird.
I love how Jade is so pure yet also such an expert... so passionate and lost in it, but at the same time she leads so well and is always so on point in timing, fluctuation, key and style, just with it 100%... what a woman!
Alex's dancing is a pure expression of what he is feeling when he sings his music. It's extremely personal, and it should be that way for you too! Don't try and mimic him too much, because you'll strip yourself of your individual spirit and emotions. Dance what you feel. Set your soul free in the music! It's a beautiful thing when you do. just look at Alex! ;)
Whenever I listen to this song I feel like I am in some sort of a trance. Hopefully one day I will be old enough to purchase tickets and go see them. They are defiantly on my bucket list.
You can see the accordion player might has an even better voice than Jade...but you can hear it in Jade's voice that she is singing with much joy and passion that it makes me enjoy her more
This is one of the bands who've inspired me with my music. I need to find a band like this to join me in my indie rock projects. Edward Sharpe has so much feeling in their songs.
Could this sound be any more magical? The path that these people are on is amazing and I am happy that I am aware of it, taking a small piece of that magic with me...
i am going to see them again this summer at a local music festival! so excited my little town is bringing them here. and the o'brother where art thou soundtrack is very good! i listened to it when i was younger as well, infact my parents bought the cd.
Always a joy and a delight to watch and listen to these amazing people. Seeing them live is oodles better than anything you'll see on video or hear on audio - if you haven't had that pleasure yet, go treat yourself :-D
Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit are so inspiring because they hit rock bottom big time and yet we're able to get right back up and create such meaningful and incredible mesmerizing lyrics to songs of beauty that opens my soul. I know there are many musicians who have been through the same challenges but I love these guys and hearing their stories has inspired me in a way.
I feel for music like alexander so when I play my instruments or listen to music I move and hop and jump as he does. I pretty sure im the only person in my town that acts like this.
It's funny the look at them you would not think these are ''perfectionist'' type when it comes to their art, but actually each of them are clearly perfectionist and take their talent art very seriously, otherwise how else could they sound so amazing, (it's not by accident or luck alone, their is hard work here)
yesterday I was talking with my friend about the relationship between money and music today and that almost the artists by now, compose songs under the wing of the producers that want make money...Well only a few today make MUSIC and they make a music...(sorry for my bad english)
