They are both funky ass war anthems with drums (traditionally used in war marches) both sung so so funky. Let's make war something we can all get down to.
Reading “Defence of Fort M'Henry” (the lyrics source for “The Star-Spangled Banner”) , made me think of “O Florida, Venereal Soil” by Wallace Stevens. “As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses? “ compared to “Conceal yourself or disclose/Fewest things to the lover-”. Plus they both begin with “O”, and Stevens even references Francis Scott Key in “Tiestas from the Keys”. Weird.
