To the relatively untrained eye. he has some of the most brutally efficient, violent, reliever-only looking mechanics in all of baseball. Extremely interesting video.

I would absolutely love to see a breakdown of the meteoric rise AND slow fall of Jake Arrietta. His mechanical changes were instrumental in leading to his CY Young season, but it wasn't long after that he quickly fell off. What happened and why? What could he have done to prevent it?

Video kept getting better. Love how it ends comparing to his brother. And all the sXs videos throughout. His brother doesn't hold the internal glove either and opens up sooner and more as a result. Oh... I'll take Rivera until Diaz has proven he can do this without injury for another 12 years. Lincecum's last dominant year was at age 27. Diaz is 28. Mariano was just getting started at that age

Great video! Always interesting to see how certain guys that have some funk to their deliveries are actually doing things exactly right. Would love to see you break down some guys who used to throw really hard and don't anymore like a Zach Greinke or Steven Strasburg. I'd be interested to see how different their mechanics are now and how big of a role it's played in their decline in velo.

Stride length is easily 100%+ of his height. Release point is almost sidearm... pretty good recipe for bringin it.

Would you be able to do a quick update on his injury and how it might affect him going forward in his career? Was it better that it happened in his push off leg rather than his landing leg?

That injury (total patella tendon tear) actually makes me wonder whether he's juiced. Anabolic steroids can cause these kind of freak injuries and it didn't seem as if that mound celebration was anything out of the ordinary. I don't want to spread any rumors but just wondering, as the video mentions how he's more bulky than he used to be. As for the leg i don't think it makes a difference, you need the quadriceps muscle for both pushing off and blocking.
