Microwave Circuits I introduces students to the design of high frequency and high speed components, which is essential in understanding how transmitters and receivers work. High frequency circuit design is essentially cell phone communications, radios, transmitters, TV, internet, and fiber optic communications. High frequency electronics are also important for computer engineers because clock frequencies are in the gigahertz range.
