Eef Albers - Blue Capricorn (Jazz-Funk, Contemporary Jazz, 1977 Netherlands) 

Eef Albers may be the most underrated guitarist in the world, at least in terms of recognition. Ever since first hearing his masterful, off the charts playing on FOCUS CON PROBY 45 years ago, I have been a huge fan. I recall reading an interview with Allan Holdsworth in the late 70s in which he said that Eef Albers was one of his favorite guitarists. Comes as no surprise to me.

Just listen to the first track to appreciate how good this guy is!!!

Samen met George Benson zoals hij in de jaren ‘70 speelde en muziek maakte was Eef Albers een oriëntatie en voorbeeld voor hoe de jazzgitaar moest klinken in mijn gehoor; nice en clean, mooier dan met een chorus ertussen (vind ik dan althans). Daarnaast is het tijdsbeeld ook wat de sfeer bepaalt van deze muziek. Topklasse! Mooi album. Bedankt voor het delen. 👌🏾😃

A somewhat commercial record...but all very good musicians and conducted and aranged by Rogier van Otterloo it can't go wrong, certainly not with maestro Eef Albers on guitar, his unique style and way of playing is on top of it all..great record!!
