This song deserves more attention, music like this needs to be on our radios and televisions, in the charts, not the same recycled crap we're subjected to day after day.
I really like the beard, E. It gives you this sophisticated/free look. In other words, you look civilized, but you do it with some kind of individuality.
saw them at titp at the weekend, they're one of my mate's favourite bands but i'd never really given them a real listen. this song though was amazing though. one of the guys i met there said he wasnt gonna go see Eels because they were too sad, but their set was jubilant and celebratory. even this song was played in such a way as to give some hope, as though, hey things are bad, but just fucking dance and get through it. every lyric in this song is completely relatable to me. consider me a fan.
The song could be 'Things the Grandchildren Should Know' It is on the 'Blinking Lights' album. It is also the title of his fantastic autobiography. Well worth a read.
