I think the explanation that the sheep were bored is likely correct. The lack of enrichment in that enclosed environment probably makes them less flexible in their behavior than their wild counterparts. Their behavior reminds me of "ant mills" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ant_mill), where army ants following very simple behavioral rules end up moving in a circular formation --sometimes until death, thought usually not.
We are in the new golden age now. Humanity is to ascend to a greater and more angel like existence. All negativity is getting purged. Animals are impatient. They walk in circles to create a vortex energy. This energy is to help Humanity to wake up to their new calling. Read spiritual writings to understand.
John 10:7-11 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
I don't think humanity is that week that we need help from the sheep. Regarding that vortex energy i think that's true but for protecting themselves from the unseen, Watch ben halima video on this matter, it's pretty convincing.
