Surely they are a fit for a new WH storage sizes, they are just being sold to clear space temporarily before it gets refilled with the same SKUs at the renewed place. And seeing how cheap much sale holders de-rated their value gives a good idea how good of a deal they are for resellers and how low real price for material costs is, how much it is optimized by MW.

Those Gallagher caps are for electric fencers, and they often fail.. they should be designed with a low ESD to maximize the zappiness to the fence.. Pulsewidth on the fence I think is VERY short, probably milliseconds if not microseconds I had fencer fail and it a bad solder joint on the cap burnt all the solder and trace off, and worked its way up the cap.. globbed solder on it and it works years later

I work at a Jaycar across the river, and I can say that we have a corner full of those screw-terminal switching power supplies, that barely anyone buys from. Which is a shame because it’s kinda a goldmine, and they’re all in cardboard boxes so only people who know what they’re looking for ever go there. I mean you sure do pay the Jaycar markup for them, at least the guys with a trade discount occasionally turn up to get one, and you can probably apply for one of your own without too much difficulty. A nice high-current 48V Meanwell would make a pretty good basis for a benchtop CC/CV variable switching power supply. With linear front-end, of course. There’s also a couple multi-tap transformers if you want to go for autoranging linear with relays, but the tap selections aren’t that great, and we don’t have particularly large capacitors. Also see if you can find any of their vacuum fluorescent displays! They’re like $3 normally, which is cheap enough to base a project around.

5:16 Those SB50 power connectors are really good if you do ham radio. They are hermaphrodite connectors so you can use them "everywhere" and combine as you like for the moment. 19:28 Those are constant current power supplies for LED lightning, be careful not to toast anything else with them. 19:55 That's a decent switching regulator, but it seems a bit big - I think that more modern ones are more compact. 20:37 48V - if you want to feed PoE devices or some other stuff needing 48V. 20:50 That's industrial stuff. I like that they are ranging from 200 to 500V which would make them useful where I work - we have a lot of 500V, but you can use them even elsewhere where you have 3-phase power and want 24V with decent current. Likely with a DIN rail mount as well. I could have taken a pallet, but shipping to Europe would have been too expensive. 27:57 Gallagher are making electric fence equipment so there's no surprise regarding those specs listed on that canister. Farmers knows about Gallagher.

Sad to see sometimes when you come across finds this good. In my area it usually means a big company liquidated it’s clientele. Bankruptcy… they usually have an auction first then the rest ends up on Craigslist. It’s how I got my esd safe work bench for $50 that usually runs $1000+ new Adjustable height computer table 120 ac for $150 with name brand table part. Aeron chair for $300 Ya it’s used but it’s way better than full price as long as you test them before buying
@aliveandwellinisrael2507
@aliveandwellinisrael2507 2 года назад
Yeah, I'm really glad they're only moving warehouse locations. There was a store in my area that was basically the kind of assorted salvaged & new electronics stuff from this video, but it was their whole business - chances are, if you needed something, they had it... and of course, they closed, with the brand/name seemingly bought by another company. Now "their" few locations are like everywhere else, only selling brand-new, commercial crap. Man, do I miss just spending hours browsing that place. The funny thing is, the original place probably had to sell up because of competition from convenient Internet sellers etc instead of everyone going to your old-school electronics shops, but their new incarnation is so damn generic (better than recent Dick Smith, but worse than Jaycar) that I can buy the stuff they sell from any other Internet retailer.

Those 'gallagher' caps at the end of the video are probably for the Gallagher Electric Fence systems (e.g. Cattle fences)

If those Elo-touch touch panels are about 12" x 9" 4 wire they are getting hard to get in small quantities, you have to buy a min of 100 at approx £70 each. They were used quite a lot in industrial machining centres.

Oh man I would be in heaven there. I would ensure to fill my pickup truck with stuff that I'll probably never use, but want just in case I ever need it.

Damn holy cow. I would need to sell a kidney first and stock up on components for my hobby project till i die and my grandkids still wont need to buy more. Like 1$ a box i would buy a pallet.

You could have borrowed a trolley from Bunnings next door. Sure, you'd have to walk it nearlt a kilometer to Jaycar, but it would have done the job (especially for larger bulky items)

Tyco is what TE Connectivity was previously named. Expensive connectors and related things like crimping tools

Tyco is the parent. TE is a division: Tyco Electronics. There's also Tyco Fire, Tyco Security and about a hundred other divisions. Edit: damn autocorrect.

@@SimoWill75 I know what it stands for, but my point still stands. They previously used the name "Tyco" on their product lines, before 2011, without using the abbreviation TE...

Gosh, i'm on the wrong side of the right country - there's no way i'd make it over there in time to score any goodies lol Reminds me of the time I visited a Dick Smith store just after they dropped their electronic parts from the shelves - on asking where they went, the sales rep went backstage and then returned with a big brown box filled with random stock; with the premise being to rummage through it... I just asked for a sale price on all they had, and was told to come back later, as he would need to ask the boss. I returned a few days later with boot space, and to my delight the boss was fine with selling me *two* big moving boxes of components for $150!

What a winner idea Woolworths had, turning Dick Smith into a phone case shop.
@Vilvaran
@Vilvaran 2 года назад
@@ffsireallydontcare Yeah, I could see it creeping through since '08 - the "electronics" section kept shrinking, and flat-screens gobbled up half the store's shelves... But it was a ripper of an end result, I should never ever need to buy a 1/4watt carbon-film resistor; i've got thousands! And a crapton of TTL chips. (sadly, 1K resistors, and all of the popular chips were already snapped up; no 555's for me - although i have 20 odd '556 dual timers, and 4040 counters coming out both ways) When DSE died the second time, i spent 5 minutes going through the WHOLE store. The only things I wanted were the Ni-MH batteries, and a box full of exit signs - which sadly were not for sale... So I walked out with 4x D-cell rechargeables, this was a smooth move because they are some of the few that actually hold the full 6AH! Durasmell and the like tend to halve the capacity of their D's without halving the price -__-
