This is the first in a short series of getting started videos aimed at brand new spinners who are spinning for the first time on an EEW nano.
In this video I go over the parts of the nano explaining what they are called and what they do.
The Nano is made by Dreaming Robots, and can be purchased here: www.dreamingro...

Thanks so much for this. I just got my nano and I'm a new spinner. The combination learning curve of spinning plus using an eSpinner is pretty steep so far.

What a clear presentation of the Nano! Would you share more information about your on/off switch to your battery pack? Where can people get that?

Searching '12v DC inline switch' in your local amazon or ebay should give you lots to choose from. This is the one I bought: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07F9NBYC5/

And where did you obtain it? Thank you 😊 for the thoughtful tutorial

How do I stop the motor from overheating? It seems to do that after half an hour and where did you get that amazing tension knob. Tension and uptake is my biggest issue. I’m close to tossing this in the rubbish bin.

The tension knob is one I printed myself. I've made the design freely available here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3878799 if you know anyone with a 3d printer. Alternatively snortimers hub are selling them in the US and possibly shipping elsewhere too. I have never had problems with overheating, but assuming your motor pulley isn't slipping and your bobbins are fully pushed together, the likely reason is tension being too high. First check your pulley is on properly (i cover that in another video), then I'm afraid you'll have to play with the tension to find the sweet spot. It needs very very small adjustments, millimetres or less, and it shouldn't be pulling the yarn at all, but wil let it wind on when you let go. The mistake many people make, especially those used to wheels with a strong takeup is to expect it to pull the yarn out of their hands. Not only is the nano not capable of this, it's not a very good way to spin both in terms of control over the yarn you're making and being kind to your body. If you are really close to throwing it in the bin, then put it away for the night and come back to it fresh in the morning, sometimes that can make all the difference.

What is the rectangular item on the table behind the on off switch?

It's a battery: www.amazon.co.uk/XTPower%C2%AE-XT-16000QC3-Power-Bank-connection/dp/B07PY4LP5Y, I bought it for my minispinner as that needs the 12v output it gives, it's a little overkill for the nano, so I recently bought this one instead: www.amazon.co.uk/Jonkuu-Portable-Chargers-10000mAh-Compatible/dp/B07QTJDGJ1 which is smaller and fits in the 3d printable battery case.

How exactly did you change the tension band with a knob? I need to do that, I'm having serious uptake issues. I'm used to scotch tension, my other wheel is a Majarcraft Suzie. I also am unable to remove the reducer, it simply doesn't budge.

I printed out this tension setup: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3878799, glued the cup to the body with superglue, and used a spring and cord with it to mimic a system I am more familiar with. The orifice reducer is held in by friction, it's got a rubber o-ring on that grips the inside of the orifice. If you can remove it by simply pulling, try twisting it at the same time.

@@vampyyy Many thanks, We, both strong husband and me needed a wrench to removed that wretched thing after soaking it in super hot water for half an hour. I will watch your video and try to setup with the little knob gadget that I now have. Again, thanks.
