As an Oklahoman who has seen my fair share of tornadoes this is definitely the cleanest footage I’ve ever seen, at least from a ground perspective. Normally they stay rainwrapped or it’s too dark outside to get a good shot, but this was crystal clear, and really puts into perspective how massive and chaotic these things are.
@@jaimebondoza3710 lol I’m just sitting in bed and I get this notification how weird, well thanks for the good wishes. The city I live in rarely gets struck by tornadoes due to its geography, and I don’t think we’ve had any bad tornadoes just yet, but I’ll continue to keep an eye on it. Have a good night and thanks again
@@austinmetheny27 Hopefully you can answer a question for me or anyone reading this and I would appreciate it. I've watched many videos of supercells just before spawning a tornado. Some have bases that look very close to the Earth then a huge wall cloud will lower that looks like you could reach up and touch it. Is this just the wide open terrain surrounding or are they that close to the ground? Tnx.
I'm a weather forecaster who used to work on the Alberta Hail Suppression Project. It's hard for me to express how astoundingly incredible that tornado is for Alberta. 1-2 km wide and easily will be rated an EF-4 with the reports of five houses completely destroyed. Fortunately it looks like while some people were injured, no deaths of people occurred.
I know I was born and raised in Calgary. I'm 62 and that was insane... Rolled right by my buddy's farm,... Wonder how many cows got dorothied?😳🤔🤣🤣🤫🥃wide, huge crazy power eh 😢
Several farm animals died, at least two houses were lost and barns destroyed, but all the people were safe. Pray that the Holy Spirit, which is also called comforter, comfort those who are morning, in Jesus’ name we pray.
not everyone was ok and livestock was lost.. we prepped for the worst as it travelled North past our location outside of Calgary...they say that beautiful things can be dangerous.. I believe it to be true.. the clouds and the storm looked amazing but...came like a thief to freak us all out...
I live in Calgary, about 50km away from the tornado, and I dont remember any sort of storm that day, in fact I recall it being rather nice out. As you can see in the video, there is blue sky all around. It just shows you dont need some cloudy, dark skies day for a tornado. They are very unpredictable.
This formed right over our farm just south of Didsbury. We watched the funnel take shape, and the rear flank downdrafts start spiralling at the ground, and initial touchdown. It was tossing sheds at RR22 and by RR20 it had fully touched down. Where you see the debris cloud forming in the early part of the video is the tornado hitting our friends place, the big nasty bit is hitting a well known local farm family. Probably their cattle you are hearing.
@@hopeseekr rural road. They run north/south with occasional meridian corrections, spaced every 1.6km (1 mile). They form a grid with township roads (TWP) that run east/west along longitudinal lines every 1.6km (1 mile)
It's crazy how calm and peaceful the conditions were before and while this tornado hit. You never would've guessed this monster would form out of nowhere
They don't come from nowhere. Very strong cold front cutting through will do this. I'm in eastern Ontario with a tornado watch in place. Very hot and muggy out at the moment.
This is probably the cleanest footage of a tornado I've ever seen. Not just because you were so close, but that was one of the clearest and brightest skies I've seen near a violent tornado. It practically almost formed in direct sunlight. Guess I could also say it's one of the most violent tornadoes from an LP supercell I've seen.
We seem to get a lot of our violent tornadoes from LP supercells in Canada. The 2018 Alonsa and 2007 Elie tornadoes were the only other officially rated violent tornadoes here in the last 20 years (at least that I am aware of), and they were both very photogenic. This one is definitely the clearest of the bunch, though.
Love your passion when it comes to storm chasing!! Stay safe brother. I hope those families involved in this tornado were able to seek proper shelter and are ok.
Some of the best footage I've seen. Not because it's the biggest or longest but because it's so educational. In Australia we don't have many tornadoes, but this shows the initial funnel cloud, the rotation, the debris and the devastation left behind. So sorry for the people impacted. With that clear sky and a tornado during daylight hours, it really highlights how a tornado can be so narrowly destructive. BTW your footage was on news in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
I live in north central Texas and I chased for 20 years. That tornado was massive. What was worse was the forward motion was very slow. Theres not a good scenario for homes getting hit. The better of the 2 evils is a fast moving tornado.
Absolutely amazing, mesmerizing, and tertifying. I feel for the people and their animals that were hit directly, and hope they survived. Some of the best tornado footage I have ever seen, but sad to see such destruction. ❤
I'm so sorry for anyone, including animals, that was hurt or worse, in this tornado. Thanks for getting this amazing footage. When I was a kid, I grew up in "tornado alley" and I was terrified of tornadoes. As an adult, I'd try to see if I could see them when the warnings came. (now I live in Germany and there's almost never tornadoes here). I don't know if I could keep it together to get this kind of footage. Thanks for sharing and stay safe out there!
While some livestock died, and a bunch of farmers homes & infrastructure was destroyed, there was only one person was hospitalized with minor injuries. This was about 20 min from my house.
Wow, just wow. Stay safe. Thank you for stopping to check if you could help at those affected houses, as you said you could see the emergency services arriving and you weren't able to get any closer, but you were putting people first
He didn’t check , if he cared he would have ran over to the houses. His only interest was filming for his own benefit! That’s what I hate the most about these storm chasing douchebags!!
So heartbreaking to watch. Thank you for risking yourself to catch this Monster in action. My heart and prayers go out to the people who got hit. I hear they are okay, but sadly their livestock were hurt and needed to be put down. Heartbreaking! Peace and Love be with you all as you work together to recover! 🕊❤🕯🙏🏻
4:45 Seeing what remains of a house and trees is like a nightmare. The house is gone and the trees are stripped of all their branches. There might be pieces of what was once inside of the house wrapped around the tree stumps.
there was another house there but that one was gone, really specific damage, if the tornado had moved a bit or was wider, that house would've been gone, they where lucky that they had a strong house, hope everyone is ok
@@maidenthe80sla I think if you were in this like him you’d be screaming your butt off. I know I would drop from a heart attack seeing one that close 🥹
Astonishing. Makes my heart heavy at the same time thinking of those lives that inhabit those homes, their animals, and absolutely devastated property. Great shot, I and many viewers appreciate you for going out and capturing this. Be safe brother, from the Midwest USA.
Absolutely incredible footage, Aaron. Just a massive tornado - unreal. We were hunkered down in the basement bathroom with our kids just 6km away. But as devastating as this was I’m just so thankful to God that nobody was killed, and that the path didn’t go through town. It could have been so much worse.
The worst tornado in Canadian history struck Regina, Saskatchewan 111 years ago yesterday (June 30, 1912). 28 people died and much of the downtown area was destroyed.
This is phenomenal footage! Surely this has got to be worthy of some type of video award? Please you gotta send this to the right people. Also I wanna say as someone who’s never seen or experienced a tornado. The view when you’re real close and you some what slowly pan to the top of the tornado. Truly outs into perspective the power of these things. On the outside it looks like it’s spinning so slowly and almost looks peaceful 👀💀
Great footage, I'm in Didsbury and as we were getting the strangest hail I have ever seen that tornado was destroying 3 homes completely and not to mention the livestock. The community has come together and is out helping them to clean up,
This is the most remarkable video I have seen. It is awesome, the power of the tornado, but my heart goes to those that lose everything in its path. Stay safe out there.
Few things leave you speechless & this is one of them. Hoping the victims got out of this OK and/or with minimal trauma. Losing your home is tragic, but less so compared to losing your life.
I have watched Storm Chasers for a few years and l am so glad that you guy,s report these events before and when they are happing to a district so warnings are being adhered too, being from the UK it is a rare occurrence when they happen, keep up the work you do.
I love how crazy you are chasing that Tornado, but you are sensible enough to respect the downed power lines! This is one of the best things I have ever seen! Kudos!
Thanks for this. We live in Olds and could see this monster from here. Phenomenal video. Hope no one was seriously injured or killed… very sad the destruction this thing unleashed.
You are absolutely psycho for filming this, but it’s some of the most unreal footage I’ve ever seen of a tornado. Thanks sir! Literally gave me goosebumps watching this.
All the poor people in the path of these terrifying life-threatening storms need to support chasers like yourself, bro. You never know when one of us might be the next victim! Keep Safe!
it is crazy how almost beautiful the tornado is with all the debris. It is violent, dangerous, and deadly, but there is something about it that is just gorgeous. I hope everyone in Didsbury is okay.
Wow, incredible video. I grew up in Didsbury and I never heard of a tornado touching down near there. Crazy just crazy and that was as you said a violent tornado. It was big also. I hope the people who's property got touched by that tornado are all safe.
Aw thank you so much. Some people tell me that I didn't do enough. That I didn't crawl over downed power lines with gas spewing, while first responders were just down the road on their way. Nice to hear a nice comment for a change.
I'm just imagining standing there while a big moving wall of dust and debris takes up my whole field of vision. Absolutely mesmerizing. Thank you for this footage and for helping.
Jay superior shooting! Glad you decided not to test those downed lines. I could hear how you were torn between helping and shooting, you did it all right by my count. Congratulations!
For all the time I’ve been watching you aaron .. this was one of the best chases and on my home turf … i was excited seeing you here yesterday … I’m glad to hear there was no human life lost but threw conversation.. the word is some cattle perished unfortunately
The formation of that tornado reminds me of the 2013 Moore Oklahoma EF5. I never thought I'd see anything like this in my home-country. Stellar footage. I hope everyone in the path of that monster is alright...
That was the best close up of a tornado I have ever seen. You do great work. It was like I was right there as it happened. Hope no loss of lives. Mother Nature sure can show us her power. Unbelievable. ♥️🇨🇦
