what I love about what she said, unlike fucking Jessica Chastain or Jennifer Lawrence or any of that shit is the fact that she said she's okay with flirtation and made the correct and tangible difference between a workplace environment & flirtation. And this is how France is different from America; how sexuality and adult behavior has always been encouraged in Europe but chided in America. Us millennials need to change that.

I really liked her point on the double standard of being "emotional". When it comes to women expressing their strong feelings in an obvious way their are labeled "difficult" or even "crazy", but men who have outbursts of rage because they repress feelings like sadness have been normalized and it is seen as a masculinity trait. When I first saw Before Sunrise I looked up Julie Delpy on google, and the first articles that came up where talking about how irreverent and difficult she is to work with, same happened with David O Russell, only he has been labeled difficult because he literally has a past of abusing verbally and psychologically some of his actors and co-workers, all Julie did to gain her "difficult" title was talk about the sexism that exists in the cinema industry.

Many people are unaware, by the way, that, as the metoo movement began to impact France, a contemporary French feminist writer (Iranian-born Abnousse Shalmani) published an opinion piece, critical of Frenchwomen's metoo fervor, that affirmed men's right to make passes at women (however awkward that such social gestures sometimes are).
