Both of you don’t understand politics in its highest level. If you are factual, let discuss on that basis. MKP received the highest percentage of votes and has the highest number of representatives in KZN. Are they governing KZN? Is that Democracy? Obviously not if we talk from a viewpoint of the people who voted. A political coalition post election gathering minorities has turned around the will of the people to prevent the MKP that got the majority from leading the local government. You see right there the difference between people will from the ballot and political will in exercising power even against the people will. So what are the motivations behind? it’s because of ideological differences. - First, the people didn’t give a majority to the EFF - second EFF as a political party has its ideology. From that view stand it chooses to join a coalition or not, knowing that it is a minority with no large room to manœuvre and navigate if it has to put forward some of its own policies in favor of the people. Their position is to weigh on a case by case basis what the coalition is going to come up with to service the people. So the EFF not being in a coalition does not prevent them from supporting a policy that services the people.
