A very important lesson, especially for beginners. The most difficult about it is to line up those straves effectively. I still struggle with it. For that reason it's pretty easy to guess if a good pilot is in the game because he probably got high scores and good k/d. Your tutorials are really good and I'm looking forward for more.
Hey Ghost, what do you think of the new green HUD? I personally bloody hate it for strafing especially on a green map, but i do think it's better for dogfighting in the stealth jet. Great vid btw!
VideoDeadGaming I have mixed feelings about it, as you say I like it for DFing but I find it harder for strafing, more customization options would be nice.
hey ghost fellow attack jet pilot here. i know you love those JDAMs and i agree you can have fun with those. the problem i see is if you have a good MAA driver against you. JDAM is useless if he is on to you. your main gun doesn't deal enough damage / is not reliable enough at large rage. this is pretty much the the reason i always use the rocket pods. enemies have a good MAA driver? give him 1-2 long distance rocket volleys dealing bit of dmg (~50) and pop APS - next run full pod volley and finish with gun. without those pods you will have to get closer making you an easy prey for that MAA. but i guess it is a rather rare occasion to fly against a good MAA driver.
You do have a point mate, most of the time I happen to have a wingman in the stealth, so LGM makes short work of him. You can also drop a couple of JDAMs from high up if the guy is tucked away in some corner, then go strafe to finish him off. All-in-all I'd still agree with you that pods are better for dealing with the AA.
You do more way more damage if you come straight down on your enemy, i took out a tank in around 2 to 3 secs with just the 30mm( without the tank popping his ap obviously )
+patryk ratajczag no... it has to something to do with lag compensation, you might deal less damage if you have higher ping as the game will think that you are not actually shooting when you are, resulting in "no hitmarkers" or no hit registration.
This looks totally legit. I switched to the JDAM when this rank 140 came and took me out when I was sniping, (;_;) and I wanted to know how to do it. Thanks for the tips!
I think you should've included JDAM sniping in this video. While you are high in the air you're pretty much invincible regarding AA or tanks but during strafing runs both can kill you rather easily. Some AA drivers pick really well covered spots to set up their tent, making it very difficult to avoid them while strafing. Dropping JDAMs from very far away can clean out those dangers.
Yeah, that is a valid tactic, but I've never found it to work particularly well for me. Usually my target has moved since the fall time of the JDAM is so long. Perhaps it'll work better in the CTE where the JDAM has more gravity.
I have problems with attack jet, it's not about speed, the turning physics is more tedious than the stealth jet, My wrist hurt because I swipe it to hard, and yes I use mouse for steering
How the fuck do you get jet kills so fast? im new to jets, i wanna unlock the UCAV but i can barely get 1 kill with the jet in a full game on conquest, i use the 20mm cannons i think, its the middle one, and i can hit a heli or another jet or even a tank with probably 90% of the rounds before a reload, and it will do 50 damage....
Another HUGE issue i have, I'll make one pass, do at least 60 damage, turn around within 4 seconds and do another 60, and not even get a vehicle disable let alone a kill. i do 2 lots of 60 damage in 5 seconds and nothing happens, and they can't repair because it mainly happens with vehicles with no seats for engineers.
i have tried using all the jets and its the same result. Thanks for the playlist though, it's helped me with heaps with evading dog fights and just flying in general, i just cant seem to get kills for some reason, the game just hates me.
Rezzo Same happens to me, i'm new in both jets and helicopters... It took me a while learn how to drive them, but the problem now is that I can't see a shit from the air, enemy aircrafts always spot me first and many times they kill me from the back because i didn't saw them. How do I improve this?
I was wondering how you deal with decent stealth jet pilots when you're in an attack jet? I sometimes feel like I'm reliant on having a decent stealth pilot on my team if their stealth jet knows how to fly.
Well mate the truth is that, that is often the case. If you enemy Stealth Jet pilot matches your skill, then he obviously has a huge advantage against you in dogfight, therefore if you get into a dogfight, you're pretty much dead, unless an active-radar missile or act of god (which I deem to be on a similar level) decides to intervene. How you engage the enemy pilot for the first second will decide things a lot, but if you can get a wingman it'll increase your effectiveness greatly. I'll be making an upcoming video on engaging in dog-fights soon :)
Been playing Bf4 since day 1. Just now started to mess around with them, trying to get the UCAV, because I haven't had the chance to use it before... and damn if it isn't difficult as fuck. I'm one jet ribbon away as well. It seems I either come up against 1.) People who are just as rubbish as me or more frequently 2.) The jets who are so skilled that I'm out of the air 20 after spawning, you know the types who go 40-2 a round in jets. Trying to squeeze in a kill before I get shot down is so frustrating.
I really want to work on my attack jet skills but my jets are always destroyed or someone else is in them... I can strafe run on tanks like a boss but in the attack jet I can't dogfight for my life!
hello I have problems strafing infantry I'm a pretty good jet pilot I'm in the air whole game do you have jet settings and possibly make a tutorial how to strafe infantry because I get a crap Ton of hit markers
+Drummerdigger you unlock it and equip it. then you change weapons in the jet.(i dunno on pc but on xbox it is Y). you look at the screen display and when you are over the target, you drop it (shoot button)
fucking hour long match i dont get one kill in the damn thing im trying so hard to get the kills for the jet ribbon. i get so frustrated and i cant get any kills. ive spent the last few hours trying to get the ribbons for an assignment i cant get anything. It the most frustrating thing ive ever done on this game. I just want to complete the assignment and never get in a damn jet ever again
Hey ghost, I've got a problem: is there a trick or something that allows you to get in a vehicle the quickest? Because I often get beated when I'm waiting for the jet to spawn, and even if I'm clincking on spawn like a dumb man, someone takes it before me. And it's sooo frustrating! P.s don't say the classic "you are too slow" please
Well I used to rely on SSD supremacy, but since there's a countdown and whatnot now you have plenty of people spamming the jets. There's no real easy way to get it first mate, I think the best way you can spam is by hitting both enter keys on your keyboard (assuming you have a number pad). I usually just spam click though and I often don't get it too!
Im level 29 and i flying in a jet trying kill enemies to get more weapons to the jet. And when i spawn i start looking for enemies and i get killed. I dont have good weapons to the jets beacuse u cant kill anybody. Everybody in the match is 100+ level and i dont have a chance to kill anybody :(
Just go for enemy jets first, it's one of the hardest things to learn how to aim well at enemy jets, but that's the best way to start scoring points and unlock things like rocket pods or JDAMs for ground targets. Practice mate and watch my tutorials of course ;)
love your video! I always have a problem that missiles can still hit me (like 60%) when I already popped ECM, so I choose flares instead of ECM for the sake of dodging missiles 100% also, is the crosshair appears to be lower than the the actual hit point? I found that sometime the bullet missed even the crosshair is on target. is there any tips? I use rocket pod/ AGM65 maverick laser guided missile for secondary, is that a good secondary or should i change to JDAM and practice more?
definitely go to jdams mate. check out his jdam video if you haven't. Rocket pods are essentially just slower moving projectiles. Maybe a bit of splash damage for infantry, but nothing your cannon can't do. Jdams will do 50 damage to any piece of armor, so if you make a short run on a tank, you only have to do 50 before you pull out and finish it off with a jdam.
Rocket pods are fine, a lot of people prefer those over JDAMs. I wouldn't use LGM on an Attack Jet though, that's a huge waste of potential fire-power. I have the same issues with ECM as you do mate, but I still prefer it over flares for the dogfighting aspect, I've learnt when and how to avoid dying to most missiles at this point so they don't really bother me 'too' much, essentially they just slow me down.
the frogfoot and the warthogs crosshairs are pretty accurate. for the q5 though, yeah you have to get used to that the crosshairs are a bit misaligned. i actually prefer it that way since it gives a clear view of the target and just use the crosshair to somewhat refer to where the target is. also, rocket pods have their advantages. ive noticed a slight delay in jdams(if i just quickly check the screen and click the bomb doesnt launch, you have to stay in the screen for a while) + the bomb can still miss vs a fast moving target with hydras you are most certainly going to take out the target you were going for in one strafe. but you lose the infantry farm(nothing to kill? drop jdams on infy)
Take time and a lot of practice. I used to be like you but after looking at tons of tutorials and then going practicing I finally get kills then yet deaths too lol.
Derpy Kitties it is so rewarding to fly a jet when you get the hang of it friend. I have yet to get a kill in a jet of any kind, but I can spend an hour in the test range listening to metal music and pulling wicked aerial manoeuvers untill I crash. I recommend the test range to learn to fly, but don't waste your time there once you learn all you can really do is jump into a match and try it. even if you don't get kills the game is about enjoyment and trying new things like doing a 180 without turning.
Jake Pryor since the last comment ive improved. Im able to fly and kill with scout helies and i can fly jets. although i cannot get kills while in a jet.
Shadowzone25 then ypu will have a nice time in games like arma where jets actually hurt people.....the jets in bf are nothing more like a joke of what their counterparts in real life are. bf is aarcade the jets are nerfed to hell and people still complain. meanwhile in bf1 they added a 105mm cannon to a ww1 plane.....lets see how long it takes to nerf it back to oblivion.
I'm sorry, but the graphs bother me too much to finish watching the video before making a comment on them. As time progresses, and IF it's a curve, y-values should be added to each other, ending at the maximum x-value as the sum. In these two, infantry ends with 100 and attack jet ends with 0. If my explanation was in any way unclear, please let me know, and I'll show you an example.
Great video as usual. I've been focusing on infantry gameplay recently because I felt like my skill was falling off. That and I've been play hardcore. I flying in HC, no one spots in it.
It's on it's way out, in one form or another. The Prototype is still being tweaked and testing, but it will most likely be coming with the spring patch this year.
I don't know if you have much experience in jets on console, but I am in a dilemma about what controls to use. I am equally familiar with the default and the veteran. When I use the default I am better at dogfighting, and am able to fire while maintaining speed, but cannot strafe ground targets as effectively. With veteran controls I can slow down and keep my crosshair on ground targets easily, but when I dogfight I cannot wrap my head around braking with the same hand I fire with (L1 is brake, L2 is fire). So I still end up winning most DF in pub matches, but what do you think I should do?
I'd probably go with the dogfighting route and learn how to aim with it mate. I know your troubles though, keep speed control is quite difficult whilst aiming/firing at an enemy jet.
Hey Ghost, nice video. Can you please make a video on how to just line up the shots when flying a jet? I am a pretty bad pilot (I have been trying the jets for a week), Most of the time i can't kill a target in a single strife. Today I had a 500 ticket Conquest match, and I was on a stealth jet for all the time , got like 3 anti vehicle ribbons and 0 kills. I didn't die in the match once(mostly because the other team don't have a good pilot) but absolutely 0 kills. Thank you again for the video.
so I wanted to follow some of your tips but since there are going to be changes to the jet mechanics should I just wait? I only like the attack jets i can take out multiple vehicles in 1 strafe at times but i struggle in dogfights i even take out infantry with the main gun
Man ghost. You've really helped me get so good in jets now I go MVP in stealth jets XD My scores are usually around 20-1 or 29-1 these days :D Makes me wonder how deadly the stealth jets are going to be once they implement the types of cannons for the jets hahaha. Although I feel like I need a slight break now because I need to keep that infantry gameplay still going haha
For me it's usually the anti air. For some reason, no matter what team I am on there is always a lvl100+ guy in the anti air that locks down the entire map. And it's always the enemy that has this guy.
