Setup and test the eflite umx timer's control surfaces and safe tech from horizon hobby. You can setup the eflite umx turbo timber with the same process.
Why is it you are the only one that can actually explain this and make a decent video of it? I watched one guy drop his Camara, recording everything BUT what it was he was doing. HONESTLY! You did an AWESOME job at explaining what you were talking about and was able to do a decent video to boot. Others said they would show set up and never did. You need more exposure!
You are an excellent instructor. Great video man!...I have 2 UMX Turbo Timbers. For some reason I am not getting full rudder throw when I move the stick to the right. That is on both models. So, I must be doing something incorrectly. I'll study the manual more and try again...I know time has restrictions for us all. I hope you find the time to do more presentations and set up videos. You're very knowledgeable and thorough!
Great video. I had some challenges in setting up the SAFE mode. What I learned that I was misunderstanding is the fact that the SAFE mode can ONLY be activated by the GEAR switch. Although the gear can be assigned to any switch, it must be the gear assignment. I prefered to activate the SAFE mode from switch "A" on my DX8E, to do so, I had to assign switch "A" to this switch in the "Sytems Setup" portion of the transmitter under "Channel Assignment." There has been some confusion on the proper stick prosition to activate the SAFE mode whether both sticks should be at the bottom outboard or the botton inboard corners. This video is correct, where the sticks should both be held to the bottom OUTSIDE corners. (Not all Horizon models are programmed the same!). I hope this helps others! May the Force Be With you! :-)
Really well done explanation for setup. I’ve got my umx turbo timber coming soon. Only thing missing from this video is the new telemetry features that they added to the new version. I gotta find some videos that are as detailed and also straightforward like this one on that subject. Need to understand how to setup low voltage warnings. Great video. I’m sure I’ll watch again when my new plane arrives.
The telemetry feature is not available when I made the video. I have a umx turbo timber available. I will see if I can make a video explaining the telemetry stuff.

I am unable to get SAFE mode to initiate either. Per the two stick position, bottom and outside corner process, I tried both number 5 gear and switch 4. Neither one works for me. Any ideas of how to correct this?

The expo value controls the stick’s sensitivity within the lower end (near the center of the stick). 20% expo basically makes your sticks less sensitive on the very low range. In other words, if you make small moves on the stick, the stick will be less sensitive. So you are able to make very fine adjustments. The stick will get more sensitive when you move it further to the higher end. The higher expo value will make the “less sensitive” range wilder. If you want to fly smooth and make fine adjustments, you want your expo to be high. If you fly 3D like what I do on my other planes, you want it low. I fly aero sometimes on this timber so I put it on 20%. I know people who fly 30% on the timber. On my edge 540, I have 10% expo because that’s a 3D plane and the movements are fast. Hope that helps.

The only problem is the température it's around 30 degré even at the beginning of the night and the battery are very hot and i've just 4 min of flying time, until the LVR start to cut the power. I've order the float for flying on water but i will wait a more cold weather for have much Time. Bye
On my UMX Citation with my RadioMaster TX16S I had to put the switch on channel 6 despite the manual saying channel 5. I also followed the process from the manual to set the switch using the sticks to bottom inside and then flipping the switch 5 times. Also, You can't turn SAFE off via the switch while the aircraft is not level. While holding the aircraft I put it in a bank with SAFE off, flipped the switch to turn SAFE on and the ailerons tried to level the plane. Turned the switch off and it still tried to level the plane and it only switched off after I leveled the plane. I though the switch wasn't working.

I have a DX6i and I am struggling to get that SAFE mode setup. I know I could buy a new radio with better features....but it works and I hate to junk it!
Thank you. I've been having a terrible time with the umx turbo timber safe select. I think the problem is that I was not letting throttle get past 50%.
I'm having issues with my rudder plane wants to go right I tried trimming all the way to the left still goes right could you give me any suggestions I downloaded proper files
I would just look up “umx timber battery” on Amazon. That is how I found my battery. I am not familiar with the term ph 2.0 and ph 2.5z hope that helps
The timber turbo has the similar setup process. The values for the due rates and travel might be different but I think those are in the manual. I will do a video about it soon plus the flight talk. Thanks
