eFootball PES 2021 premiered as Season Update to PES 2020. That means we shouldn't expect big update in terms of mechanics and graphics, but rather simple stats and roster refresh plus additional model change. So let's compare some animations and players models to see how much have they changed.

The thing I really respect is that their calling it a season update, while FIFA does the same exact thing but makes a completely "new" game, and sells it for a full retail price. Pes on the other hand had this season update roll out for about half the price of PES 2020.

There are minor differences in the player movement and responsiveness, but it's not ground breaking new stuff, just refinements of the same structure basically. Which is fine... it's a season update and the new gen game comes out next year. The fact there are even small improvements in a "season update' is pretty good. I was stoked when EURO 2020 came out on PES 2020, becuase the whole game's movement and rseponsiveness felt like it should have been from the start. I've been hoping that it was a glimpse of how PES 2021 will be, and to me it looks like it's going to be the same gameplay as we saw in the EURO 2020 mode which is epic!

Yes I don't get why the hate for pes 2020. I love it. Haven't touched fifa 2020 except now and then for VOLTE. Such a rewarding experience playing PES.

For the people who said that PES didn’t change at all this year, there’s a reason why they called it a “season update.” They don’t wanna go far ahead of their graphics and gameplay till next year. Efootball is going to show us something special within the next few years or even this year which is going to be exciting to see, who knows. It’s going to be unexpected but it will be cool to see PES change their gameplay and graphics to the next level for the PS5.

Models are the same, they changed some textures tho. Like, lighter parts on dark skin now look lighter instead of looking like they bleached their faces.

They've tweaked some hairstyles and some default animations for some players, and then the textures have been updated accordingly, but models are mostly the same, and they're definitely NOT improved

The eyes are too ugly, the problem becomes stiff, unsightly, there is an oddity in the character. FIFA is better for faces but PES is better for gameplay

In FIFA only the eyes look good but in PES the faces are a lot more realistic. FIFA has way better running animations and moving animations. PES is honestly kinda bad at animations but you can do cool stuff like fake and take off your shirt. But sometimes FIFA is better at the faces.
