@@tonyc3382 i was used to see him play in the big tournaments in which he is not anymore joining because he is semi-retired.. i miss him joining those big tournaments..
ive watched this at least 5 times now lol i just love seeing how he has the very basics of supplies and doesnt even carry an extra shaft. Skill at its best, no need for fancy gadgets.
Efren is such a sweet and humble man. His equipment compared to other pros make him seem like an amateur but he's the worlds best pool player. There's a lot to be said for that! It might be that he comes from a less privileged background and learned to get by with what he can get, and appreciate what he has. A true sportsman of the game and will be sorely missed now that he has retired.
Amazing, he's the best but has the least amount "stuff" inside that case. Sand paper and a sharpening tool. Pretty cool to see that simplicity has yielded such triumph.
This man is a true genius!!! Just watching him play is a privilege... thank god i was lucky enough to enjoy him playing, even if he's not at his best of times, 5/5 thx for uploading this.
+JackoDiaz Most of them haven't spent any time in an English speaking country. But I'd like to see how those criticizing Efren's English speak Tagalog. I'm guessing not very good.
JackoDiaz exactly it's pool if he can't speak English at all who gives a shit .it's not mandatory to speak English for shit sake and yes it's Christmas and I'm watching pool matches and interviews why because i love the game
JackoDiaz Efren knows so much about pool and he is a smart man, why would the powers that be want to limit what he can communicate to us by having him speak in a language that is not his first language? When someone as great as Efren is speaking, there should always be a translator to maximize what he's willing to share with us. Why tie his hands? He is certainly worthy of a translator!!!
is this info accurate and true? can I get his store name please, I want to order one, this is a piece of history, i'll travel to the Philippines and have this stick signed, this will be great!
laptrip yung pulbo, napaka resourceful its an a big proof that achieving big things wont depend on how much you invest in your equipments but rather the skill and attitude
Efren is the greatest there ever was. Also he's a gentleman and is very humble. I'd like to meet him before I leave the Philippines but I have no idea where he is.
Well SVB is #1 ranked now and has done what Efren couldn't (like when world 9ball over 20 million times, Efren couldn't do it.) And SVB is more humble. He was a dead kid and he actually does stuff for kids, which Efren doesn't do. But Efren looks like the old freaky uncle you wouldn't want around your kids.
SVB plays like a robot, all of these new era players look like robots, not a chance in hell SVB has entertained the crowd and TV more than Efren, he just doesn't have the imagination, he's a robot...@@godjhaka7376
greatest pool player of all time, and looking at what he carries, you would think he was a average league player lol--goes to show you just how good the guy is..........
Ive been dwelling on how many and what spesific cue's I really need. I've been playing with two for years, but some pople have break cue's jump cue's playing cues, extended cues... If the best pool player in the world (Durring his time) can play with two normal cues, I think I have my answer. I'll stick with what I have.
efren do carry extra shafts, he only showed the cues that he plays with.his other cue a judd cue is actually in his case he doesnt want to show it because people will imitate the cue, and he is not in a contract with judd fuller but judd makes his past and recent cues.mezz cues is the only name he carries because they made efren reyes signature cues.
Barbara Baker Arguably the greatest of all time, yet he's still so incredibly humble. So many others at the top of their respective games/sports could learn a thing or two from Efren Reyes
When I was young I was very good at pool and I remember saying that it's a waste of money to buy an expensive stick because if you play well then an ordinary house stick is just as good.
Grabe!!! Elk master tip ang gamit!!! Magchamp sya at if im not mistaken, elk tips the cheapest one!!! While the others were so expensive!!! Kahit saang bilyaran yan ang default n tip!!! Wow!!! Talaga, nasa talento/henyo talaga ng idol!!!
@TheTrojanrazon excellent points, i agree with you 100%. however, english is the global second language. it is more beneficial for a filipino or chinese person to speak english than it is for an english speaking person to learn kapampangan.
we may now forget about those "secret" ferrule material, those 25-dollar magic chalk, and all that laminated low-deflection shit. start practicing more and learn pool strategy and table geometry.
I use the same tips but I use the softer press. They might not last as long as the others but goddamn do they grab some english. It also takes a little of that annoying click out of the stroke when you make contact with the cue ball. I have the same sand paper in my case too, It works so much better than anything else I've ever used. I have 800 grit for the rough pass and 2000 to smooth everything over and it's like new after you're done. What a great pool player.
Efren using master elk chalk about 2usd a box of 12, while some beginers now used 26 usd a piece... And he used master elk cue tip about less than 2usd wow!
