That is GOOD! My 16 kw array is fixed on a 4/12 pitch roof and I can only get about 50 KW/day during this time of the year. Just added 23KW ground mount but it is not up and running yet. At least it is on a 25 degree pitch. Best I could do with the mounts. Only have 41 KW of lithium batterys. Working on more of those. You really have a nice system now!

Were do you live, Here in Michigan, 18000 Watts of panels, Jan 6, 11.6kwh, Jan 5 12kwh, Jan 4 35kwh, Jan 3 6.3 Kwh, Jan 2 19kwh, Jan 1, 8.7kwh, Dec 31 5.3kwh............. and it goes on back to next worst Dec 17 6.4Kwh and the best in Dec 12 57.4kwh and December total solar 635.1 kwh. I can't get a day to charge the 1380 amp hours of batteries from 30%. Best month was July at 1723.5kwh. This is what is going in My Sol-ark 15k. I also have 10,100 watts of panels that Solar Assistant does not record. This goes Through two Epevers MPPT's and An Eg4 5000watt MPPT. Side Note here, not happy with the EG4 mppt. Do not get the out put of that array I did with the Sol-ark hooked to it and a substantial amount. Thinking about buying the eg4 6000ex to replace two of the controllers and give me a back up or separate circuit to charge my electric car. (then I can track that solar an a separate Solar Assistant)

I live in North Carolina. My EG4 6000xp mppt’s are doing good so far. Had to change my panel setup some from my growatt inverters. Other than that seems to be doing great. 👍

I noticed on your solar assistant that on the 17th for that first inverter you had virtually zero solar production. Why was that ?
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
Solar assistant? My old system or the eg4 monitor ? If this one I worked on system trying to update battery firmware that day. Plus we had a crazy all day rain storm that would have provided little to no solar anyway. Can’t remember exactly how much it ran but basically a once in a blue moon type of dark nasty rain day.

@@rodneyhunt Sorry, meant the EG4 monitor app. I'm trying to figure out what system i want to install in a new construction totally off-grid home. I'm not going to have any 240 loads at all. Your videos help a lot. Thanks for all the testing and research you do. It truly helps.

It would be cheaper to buy a second electric car than buy more batteries pick up a Chevy Bolt with a brand new battery pack and only 20,000 mi on it for under 11,000 right now it's a smoking price this way you get two cars and you can just alternate them
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
If you could easily get the power out. I have hooked up a 12 volt inverter to to the car with it on. Yhen the inverter powers a 120 volt charger fir my battery bank. But it only puts in 1300 or 1400 watts an hour I think. So it will help but if you pull more than that per hour you will still need some battery bank. Just what testing I have done
@kurtzxcvb3481
@kurtzxcvb3481 9 месяцев назад
@@rodneyhunt I wasn't talking about taking power out of the car I was talking about rotating your vehicles so you drain one to zero and then you charge it up during the daytime while you're driving the other one and then you keep on rotating them that way you always have a car that's charging and sucking up all that power that's is just going idle on extra sol

Cool Rodney! Do you have the space to have additional ‘East & West Arrays’ to lengthen your hours of solar capture? Do you have a backup ‘Standby Generator’?
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
I just have a few regular generators that I can use with the chargeverter during emergency situations to charge batteries.

Is there any reason you went with the 6000 XPs? Versus just buying the EG4 18 or something similar?
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
Yes. 18kpv only has 12k of ac output. I need more for my situation since at times I use well more than that at once. 3 6000xp’s give me 18k output at one time. 👍

87KWH, my understanding, which is limited. The production will be batteries to full charge + loads. Beyond. that I don’t think it will show any more solar production
@rodneyhunt

It doesn’t. That us why I said if my batteries are lower today, which they are, I should be able to bring in more power than yesterday if my loads are about equal.

I'll guess 110 kWH generated today. Man you use a lot of power. Hey what gauge wire did you use for battery to inverter? I've still got to pick that up.
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
From 6 battery rack to bus bar 4/0. From individual battery to bus bar 2ga. From bus bar to inverter 2ga. But all depends on your length from each device. 4/0 is 72 or 96 inches. Most of the rest are less than that. Purchased all from Signature solar.
@joetripp123
@joetripp123 9 месяцев назад
@@rodneyhunt it'd be from two EG4 LLs's to the inverter. No bus bar. I was thinking 1AWG but can't find that readily in 3 ft length. SS has it in 7 ft. I can find 1/0 on Amzn. Someone on the forum said just use 2 AWG. Manual says 1 AWG. So now I'm really confused. 1 inverter max draw is 125A.
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
It says 2 awg in manual. So you should be fine with that
@joetripp123
@joetripp123 9 месяцев назад
@@rodneyhunt the battery manual shows 2 awg for 1 battery (100a continuous output), but page 12 of the online inverter manual shows 1 awg for it's max draw of 125 amps (2 batteries required). I actually feel for the 3 ft run that 2 awg would be sufficient but I'll probably go a little bigger so I can sleep better at night.
@rodneyhunt
@rodneyhunt 9 месяцев назад
So you are just connecting one battery to another then to inverter? I would probably go a little bigger. I didn’t know if you planned to go both 2awg’s straight to inverter.
