EGA Trek from 1994!!  

I played this ALLLLLLL the time when I was a kid. Every once in a while I'll still put something together to get it running again. Love it.

Yup! Good stuff! Every now and then I still play good ol' EVA Trek. Definitely an old time favorite for we "old timers" in the know! 👍👍

Star trek unity? Did you mean Star Trek The Next Generation: A Final Unity? While not cannon i really love that game! 3D starship combat, and textured! 16-bit graphics! Full motion Video! Even the TNG intro has been rendered in 3D. One of the last DOS games. Bit difficult to get working on some systems though. The included DOS extended can be replaced to improve that.

This is an updated version of the game Trek that I played often on an NCR Century 100 computer in the early 70's. The Trek that I played was primitive version written in Fortran. The NCR used a teletext writer for a terminal so all the screen updates had to be printed each round to indicate the changes. It was my favorite game at the time.

One must fall (2097) you got there is a game I played really much back in the days, I love the intro music in that game especially, I had maxed out character and mastered all special moves. I can go back and play a bit still but not that often, then I more go for Heretic and Doom etc, But last time I decided to play through Heretic my hard drive died mid game and I lost all progress :/

A little different & actually *not* using original hardware. Nice explanation of the gameplay, it kept me engaged!

I occasionally use DOSBox for SimCity 2000.

Hi - i am at work at the moment so i have not watched all of your video Great game, one of the few shareware items i registered The earlier ones use the star trek names until a copyright letter asked Nels to rename the offending items. Earlier version 1 and 2 used slightly different commmands - so when going through different versions some of the 3 letter commands do not work A game hint is save often - typically before warping out into enemy territory. Use LRS , and dont jump sector by sector - use LRS and if exploring jump 5 sectors ( hi speed no shields !! )that way another LRS will overlap in the cumulative record A cheat when low power is save game and use unstable power source it may work it may not , it is hit or miss like the death ray in later versions. You should scan enemy for damage made to them, you can shoot the closest, or move away. If life supplies are low, you must repair and concentrate on that only, you cant fight if you run out of life supply !! - there are 3 type of star bases , not all supply weapons, but you can dock and make repairs - some items like LRS / SRS / COM / NAV you can not repair urgently as they will fix them selves as you travel / move - broken nave you can work out co-ordinates - it is opposite of what you think - just to a sample x 0.1 y 0.2 and you will see how the ship reacts The other cheat is use negative power of phaser, it will wrap around the maths ( well it subtracts a negative amount thus being a plus amount ) and charge up your energy reserves You can also save the game and learn how to edit the text saved file - dont cheat to much on the time as it will corrupt

I really enjoyed playing EGA Trek 1989 version that still showed the Enterprise. Awesome video by the way.

An earlier version of this game was the first PC game I ever played (1989). Superb! Thank you, as I could never remember the name to find a copy!

Never got on well with any games back in the day, I started with a c64c with paperboy being my favourite but never mastered it. This game looks fun enough to keep me interested, I think I’m better at strategy games but they bore me and like action games but am useless at them 🤷‍♂️

I saw a streamer playing this game and, ofc, doesn't know how to play. I'm glad to saw someone play it and explain it clearly. Thank you.

EGA Trek was the best game created by human race in the last 10000 years.

Been a minute since i played EGA Trek. Dos box is a great program for running these older games.
