Benson also had a point, though. Don't get me wrong, Mordecai was in the right, but Benson was absolutely correct that Rigby would keep bringing Mordecai into trouble (i.e. Mordecai trying to win the hat for Rigby -> Mordecai literally would've died if he had picked the wrong hat). Plus. Benson DOES know about having friends. In case you forgot, Benson did have a friend named Dave that he brought into the underground stick hockey game... and Dave _DIED_ for believing Benson that a stick hockey tournament would be worth it. Benson knows what it's like to be passionate about something (Eggscellent hat/Stick Hockey championship), and then getting your friends into mortal danger because of that passionate desire ("Your friend there is only going to get you into trouble!" -> "Master, I thought you said this was gonna be so much fun..."). Benson doesn't want to see his park workers stupidly drag their friends into danger like he did with Dave.

I think in the end, he wanted more than just a trucker’s hat after all that huge ass omelette and went for the crown, not knowing choosing wrong will end in death

I think he knew about the hat but didn't know it end up killing him, hence why he chooses a crown instead of trucker hat, just to show people that he's the best

Not really. Is it messed up that some birds of prey eat other birds? I’d say it’s messed up if he was eating a bluejay omelette. The show treats these characters as people, not animals.
