Martin Vega guitars were made in the late 1970s in The Netherlands at Egmond in Best. Many of those guitars, after they were rejected by Martin inspectors in this Dutch factory, were "converted" to the Alpha brand and still marketed. Especially the connection of the neck with the sound box often led to problems. I drilled out the wooden plugs on this 45-year unplayable guitar and replaced them with 8mm bolts that you can tighten inside. A so-called "bolt on" construction. This now also makes the neck adjustable. I could improve the much too high action by lowering both the nut and the saddle considerably. Fortunately the truss rod still worked so that the neck is now perfectly straight.
