I work at an Ace Hardware distribution center and just picked up this mower, the weed eater, and blower at our company yard sale for $160 because all 3 boxes the product was in had slight damage. Score of a lifetime!
@@ToolReviewZoneyes if you have the better end of their range they are awesome Usually if the battery goes In the front it the better models in the range Can't fault mine
Good to see it being put through it's paces in the heavy long grass and uphill on the bank. Thanks. I have the IQ line trimmer and it's fantastic, no more dramas threading or winding the line and the IQ means it adjusts the line automatically as you weed. Might have to get the mower after watching this
I got the non self propel, and I love it. It's very super easy to use overall. I plan to get a cover for storage in the next couple of month. We'll worth investment.
Just bought this mower and used it once. It did the most beautiful job on my lawn. I can’t wait for the grass to quickly grow, so I can cut it again. I’m tired of all the troubles I’ve had over the years trying to start my mower and dealing with buying and storing and spilling of gas. It’s really not the quietest battery operated mower I’ve heard, but it’s probably the most powerful and it’s half the noise of my Toro gas mower. I also love how compact it is when folded down for storage.
I bought this exact same mower just over a month ago. I'm loving it and it's a beast compared to my very old 2x 18v Ryobi mower that it replaced. Battery life if phenomenal!!
Watching this video makes me want to go out and mow my lawn. It's going to be my first time.🔥 Did your battery charger make a blowing sound when you first charged it? 👈
@@doityourselftv Mine did because the charger that comes with this mower is a rapid charger. The fan kicks in to help cool the cherget components and to blow through that battery as well.
Everyone kept telling me how good they were, but I was always used to Echo and have a few of their tools. These are way better that anything Echo I have
I just brought this mower from Home Depot for $450 with battery, charged up quick and I was able to cut my grass , really like this mower ,i used to have a fiskars reel mower so this is a huge step up.
Wow that is cheap for this model. It cost me $702 with taxes at Lowes 2 days ago, the home depots around me did not have it. My realtor paid $500 but still. I had originally bought model LM2102SP but when I saw another youtube video saying that was the older model and saw the different features between this 2020 LM2135SP model I had to get it lol
@@five_star_images3019 Yeah now I'm left wondering how that works. It will probably just read my IP address and trace me down to my zip code and show me the pieces in my area.
I have the dual battery mower. On flat and downhill sections of my yard, I do not engage self-propelled mode. This gives me more battery life for cutting, and it's not hard to push the mower.
@@gnatman1102 no problem, I was pretty irritated after cutting the grass and had to charge the battery 3 times, believe me, I said a few unfitting words for my self, not paying attention to the nice things I should have paid attention too, Sunny day, I am still able to cut the grass, even when the battery has to be charged, soon I will get on my superbike and imprint a un removable smile on my old face :-)
I just saw what you got for me send it down so I can use it I'm tired of weed whacking my whole yard it's in the beginning you said look what I got for you so I agree you got it for me it was such a kind thought I'm still waiting for it down here to blazing hot Florida you have a wonderful day you take care of the family and yourself cheers with a beer
Excellent review! I watched another review of this mower and that guy said that, in general, you shouldn't consider an electric mower unless you have a very small yard. It takes me about 45 minutes to cut my entire yard with my self-propelled gas mower. How long does it take you to cut your entire yard? I noticed that you seem to have a fairly large yard. Do you think the size of one's yard should be a consideration? I've never needed to use a riding mower and have always used a push mower. Another thing the other reviewer said was that he never noticed any real difference between the two different blades they give you.
I was just actually looking at the wheels on the lawn mower and seeing how they are wet I don't think to myself look how good this thing is cutting with wet grass and by the way you're the only one who can see the Makita gnome so keep that on the DL okay good lol 😁👊👊
My mom bought one of these but is not liking how light weight the front end is. It’s so light that the front end raises up while she mows causing her to re mow some areas because when front end raises, it doesn’t cut the grass
Years ago who would ever thought that you be cutting your lawn with a battery operated lawn mower it was either a push lawn mower then came Electric and then gas and now we have battery and they work just as good if not better than gas no mixing no smell and the best part they're quiet this is why I'm so tossed on what to do about a snowblower that's why if someone was to start a landscaping business with all battery operated equipment it call it like zero footprint or no carbon Landscaping the way people want to do away with gas he probably make a fortune because they've just come so far it's really unbelievable👊💪
I'm really wanting to try the battery powered blower now lol. Yeah, I remember the corded mowers back in the day. I think they still sell them, but I would never buy them. As for battery powered tools for a professional setting, I'm still not sure yet. I know they definitely have the power, but the run time may be an issue unless you have a ton of batteries for them
I like the extra grass hiegths over the older model and the light switch on the handle now. The self Propelled speed adjustment rolling ring on the handle is an improvement too. That darn Makita gnome is fast. Man so many upgrades over the old self Propelled. I do cut in the morning so my grass is moist. Can't wait to afford this new mower by EGO. I noticed on mine that when you push the mower it cut shorter than when you use the self Propelled. I think mine raises up as the motor kicks in.
I haven't used the older one, but the self propelled does not jump of the line like some of my older gas mowers used to. I think if it did, I would have caught that famn Makita Gnome Bro!!!!!
I got my ego lawnmower 2 years ago and I love it. Every iteration since has only gotten better. Like I said, when it comes to OPE Ego rules the roost bro! Have you tried out their Carbon Fiber shaft string trimmer yet? You’re gonna love how easy it is to reload string!
Yo TRZ! What you need to do is attach that ego mower to your cub cadet lawn tractor like a side car goes on a motorcycle. I cant wait to get into the EGO line, hopefully soon. Sweet vid brother!! I speak gnome and the Makita gnome was offering you the Makita wheelbarrow to review but he wants you to apologize to him because you made him pull a hamstring when you chased him off your property.
HAHAHA, I never knew you spoke Gnome. I believe there is only a handful of people that still can. That said, he is very pesky and I just can't bring myself to forgive him for all the taunting just yet. I'll also try to get some duct tape and make the side by side happen lol
I bought the top of the line trimmer with the auto string feed and the 650cfm blower. Both of those products are superior compared to my previous high end gas trimmer and blower. the blower was atleast 1.5x stronger, that blower is beast. The other thing i will say about ego is their customer service is top notch!! I called them a yr and half after i bought the blower and trimmer because i felt my battery life was starting to decline. I never registered my products and i called there customer service and they did bring that to my attention but they we will take care of me anyway. I was the phone immediately with a rep and she just asked for the serial numbers of batteries and chargers and she sent me 2 new batteries at no cost. She also registered the batteries for me and told me i have 3 yrs warranty on the batteries. I am buying the mower next week, i am just trying to decide on the $500 or $800 one, i just need a little more time to go over features and reviews to make my decision. I swear, when it comes to battery yard tools ego stomps the competition. I bought the stihl blower and immediately returned it, it was either all or nothing on the trigger. The go is fully variable and atleast 5x stronger and im not exaggerating, when i use the boost button and full throttle it will literally push your arm back....NO JOKE!! EGO ALL THE WAY!! I TOO AM AN EGO MANIAC!
Our lawn looks like the grass was forced into circular patterns and beat down. If I could "comb" the grass blades back into an upright position, the grass would look like a bad haircut with some of the blades cut and most others sticking up needing to be mowed again. We mowed it again, changing the height and a bit more was cut but the same, beat down, appearance was evident. It's been mowed again and most blades are lying down flat on the ground. This can't be happening to other users of this mower. Ideas anyone?
Do you know who makes this EGO mower? One of the largest oil companies: Chevron ! No joke, you would think Chevron would be shooting themselves in the foot. Go figure. I have the exact mower like this one (select cut) and it is, to say the least, perfect. For bagging I added the high lift blade for use with the bagging blade (gator style) and it really makes a difference with the opening not glogging up while in bagging mode, with the bag. Now for the good news; I went out and got myself the new EGO Z6 Zero turn mower and if you think this 21" select cut mower is great you will be absolutely blown away with this new Zero Turn. It is "AWESOME" and makes no noise until the blades are turned on. No more headphones, but still use eye protection and wear a dust mask. I also have the 575 CFM blower, the 24" hedge trimmer and the 14" chain saw and each one is perfect. Your video is great too. Great job !
I saw a review of an older Ego mower where the rear drive was only on the left wheel. The right wheel just runs freely. Is the 2135SP designed the same way? I hope not. Thanks for the good review🙂
So, you're suppose to use two blades and not just one. Maybe that is why the mower I purchased, with one blade, doesn't cut worth a darn. That said, with two blades, how are they attached since there's only one bolt to hold the blade(s) on?
Did you ever find out? I have many small lawn segments so will have to do several reverse passes. Wondering how much resistance there is to pulling it in reverse. It weighs almost 70lb and my current mower is 60 so it may be worse under those conditions
Thanks. Very informative. I was typing out a question about reverse but, you answered it before I could get to it. Its been a while since you made the video. Do you still like it?
@@ToolReviewZone Thanks for the reply. One more question. Is the 2135SP VARIABLE SPEED self propelled or is there one speed set at the factory? I have a chart that says the 2102SP has a range of self propelled speeds. The same chart only indicates that the 2135SP is self propelled.
so you like the select version with 2 blades? it’s a couple hundred more than the single blade version. Some say the cut isn’t very good esp on longer grass.
Honestly, my new favorite mower in the Milwaukee m18. Hand down the best, and my neighbors are buying them up. A bit pricey, but it's amazing. I have a couple vids on it
Excellent C0ntent 🔥 I just bought my eGO mower. 56V battery. It came with a charger and battery. When I first charged the battery the charger was making a blowing sound. Is it because it's new? I thought it was going to be a quiet charging station. 👈
We just purchased the LM2100SP self-propelled model. When self-propelling, it has a fairly loud high-pitched whine that is pretty annoying. I don't really hear the sound on this video, and EGO claims it is normal. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I don't have a select cut but I do have an LM2102SP. Really most people have a POS gas mower that is decades old. These mowers will kill it. Mine cuts a 816 Sq ft front yard and a 500 sq ft back yard. If I cut the front, it won't even bother charging the battery. It i a lot of mower. As with any mower, if you want a good cut, have a level lawn made from the same types of grass.. If the mower speeds up when it hits denser grass and you have a small pocket of it, expect it to not cut well because it can't speed up that fast. If you have a 6x6 inch divot 3 inches deep, don't expect the machine to have the same suction over such a big hole. Technically overkill for my lawn, but man is it great to stand it up and have the extra room. I use my EGO leaf blower to dry my car, so the mower's big battery comes in handy.
@@accomplishedtheory9502 yeah, absolutely. My neighbor was cutting grass today with hers and I never even heard it until I opened the door and walked outside. The only thing you really hear are the blades turning. If they have all their windows open and live two feet away from you, then maybe.. but it's really quiet compared to gas
@@ToolReviewZone We have them in Canada but they are $900.00 that's why I was asking you if YOU ship to Canada.., we pay through the a** for stuff over in Canada. Oh and I forgot to mention that is without Taxes, we have 13% in Ontario So that would come to about $1000.00 ridiculous prices.
From what I understand this mower is back wheel drive. You make no mention of this it seems. I had a lawnmower that was back wheeled drive and I had a difficult time turning it in my small lawn, so I hated it. Since it is a smaller lawn, it needs to be turned often. Are there any features on this mower that makes it easy to turn. The problem is that on a front wheel drive mower, you just lift it up and turn, whereas on a back wheel, the wheel continues to rotate as you are turning making it a little difficult I found. It eventually broke down and I purchased a front wheel drive. It seems to be popular to have the back wheel drive. I can't imagine trying to turn those all wheel drive mowers. Right now I do need another mower and I do want to purchase a battery operated mower but this back wheel drive turns me off. If you have any input, I would appreciate it.
All you need to do it lift your finger off the Self-Propeller's button on the handlebar and the wheels will stop turning. You don't need to lift the front up like you do for a front wheel mower.
I guess EGO didn't expect that customers would have problems with their tools, what a mistake. After several attempts to get them on the phone then 2 days of testing and confirming a defective 7.5 amp battery for my Mower they said that they would replace it, wow that's great I thought. Going on 5 weeks so far and I have not received it, no stock they claim yet retailers are fully stocked with EGO products. In my experience with EGO Warranty Service it is TERRIBLE and if you need their help you can go for weeks if not months before you get to use the tools again. I would not recommend buying their products.
Yeah I know what you mean, but like others have stated, they can be used in other tools, no gas and no hassle trying to start the stupid thing every year. I guess you pay a bit more for less hassle.
@@ToolReviewZone I found the secret to that annoying though start issue every year. At the end of the season run the mower till all the gas is used, then put non ethanol gas in, run that for a few mins and that's it. Ethanol attracts water so while it sits in your gas line it builds up all this water, not to mention the octane depletes making ignition really tough. Save the money and not buy into these short term conveniences. 😀
@@666lordofabyss666 I don't know, I've had my toro self propelled mower for almost 13 years now, as long as I do maintenance is runs great. I've had the electric lawn tools and either I'm running out of power and can't finish the lawn or I end up having to buy another battery, and that's even if they still will be making those batteries when you need one. Well if your happy with them then that's great. I found cordless annoying and overly expensive.
EGO MOWER -- DO NOT BUY ! Buying a battery operated mower was to support the eco movement, etc., and we thought it was a great idea. But, the electric wire(or relay switch) in the handle failed, which I've been told and read about online, is common. On June 13th I called EGO and was told my mower was under warranty and to take it to the recommended repair location nearby, so that's where it's been since then. Despite their many requests the repair shop can't get EGO to send parts and despite my many calls to EGO, they will not help in any way. EGO keeps saying it's being escalated to the proper department, but nothing happens. My mower has been in limbo all summer without the company taking any responsibility for providing parts to the repair shop. I just don't know what to do. I will never purchase another EGO product!
I would like to see somebody do an honest cut on a thick 4 inch St Augustine lawn. If a mower is under powered it wont have the lift to do a good cut and it will leave several uncut grass blades through out the yard. Everybody wants to cut high weeds with this and brag about the power. Has anybody used this mower on a thick bladed, dense lawn and gotten good results.
@@ToolReviewZone Well I bought one and gave it a try. It would have been cheaper to buy you that ticket. I spent $789 for the best Ego mower. The simple fact is that it's way way way under powered compared to a gas mower. The batterie lasted around 20 minutes and cut about 1/3 of my 13000 square feet of lawn and then took about 45 min to recharge. And on top of that it left lots and lots of uncut blades sticking up. To top it all off, you can't return a used mower to Home Depot, so my son-in-law up north will be getting a nice Christmas gift this year. So I bought a Torro Recycler for a little less than half the price and I have a great looking lawn again. I really wanted it to work but electrics just aren't ready for a thick Florida lawn yet.
