Ego is about quantity over quality. Never use non-white cauldrons with ego (except with regen scrap) because you're just giving up 2-4 potential pieces of ego food. Also don't bother scrapping anything that isn't actively being detrimental to you unless you're immediately going to turn it into other items with printers, it's all effectively already scrap for the ego.
Imagine if Mithrix's Egos also take his items So if the fight takes long enough it's you vs Mithrix, on the final destination of the game, with no items (save for Ego)
mithrix does use any item conversions (delicate watch, void teddy, ego, etc) but he gives the items back based on what he took not what he's currently holding
I actually really like egocentrism. My favorite run since the patch ended up with over 200 of them (entire galaxy swirling around the character) which I then turned into ~160 pearls and 58 irradiant pearls - it was amazing.
until you tripped on a bug and flew across the map, bounced off the edge, hit the height limit, and fell to your death. right? radiant pearls are awesome... but damn it's hard to manage them. love that new lunar that double health and halves move speed. so much easier now.
@@omegalord777 Oh, nothing could kill me. 30k health and the armor and regen from 58 irradiant pearls meant that unless i stumbled into a void-enemy's instant-death-thingy there would have been nothing that could harm me. I did get the half-speed-double-health blue item in the next shop tho just to make it less dizzying to play.
@@omegalord777 there is a lunar item called stone flux pauldron which doubles your hp in exchange for halving your speed, this is a perfect item to counter the pearl movement speed
my best run was literally 6 and a half hours. bought ego three times, converted into pearls twice. over 100 standard pearls, and THIRTY TWO RADIANT. ended up with more than 30 benthic blooms as well. ended up killing the run just because there was no end in sight. that's just what happens when you have LITERALLY 50k+ hp/shield with a max of 100k+ with fully stacked barrier from aegis. healing for more than 150k/s, and not even bosses can approach without instant death due to having... basically every red in the game always stacked well over ten due to benthic. ego literally could not stuff itself fast enough to damage the build anything that came within ego range started a chain reaction that killed everything else out to about 5x ego range. ego, shrimp, frost relic, pocket rocket, knives and nukahauntus. aegis, wungus, rejuv racks, and well over 12 corpsebloom. the 150k/s healing was just because 50+ wungus and 10+ corpsebloom means if i sprint AT ALL, ima heal for 150k/s for the foreseeable future. eventually i had 14 shifts and my commando could cosplay Maxim from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (if you know what i mean you know what i mean). i also ended up with 12 charges of ultimate on global cooldown, so if i ACTUALLY WANTED TO DO ANYTHING MYSELF i could literally just spam R and forget i have a primary. ...was kinda broken, not gonna lie.
It's not good, except for doing cleansing pool shit, but even then, unless you had ultimate bad luck the items you would have had would be doing more. Like killing everything in the mail in a sec.
Beginning of phase 3 had me scared Mithrix keeps your lunars til he dies, I've never paid attention to whether it did or not and thought the run was for sure over
I like the darkening effect, but slightly reduce it when you're just showing items and not giving a detailed description of them (like your description of ego) or putting particular attention to some descriptions (eclipse modifier at 3:55)
I agree with other commenters I don't think we need the screen darkening and focus shift stuff that much. Not sure if the music cutting in and out a lot was part of the editing or you doing it manually but I wouldn't mind the music being generally lower.
It would be sick if you gained more stacks of ego based on the item it absorbs. Like, 1 stack for whites, 2 for greens, 3 for yellows, and blues, and a whopping 5 for reds. It would synergize hilariously with benthic, provided it doesn't take that too... regardless, it would be pretty OP, but in a fun way.
I play RoR2 like once in a while with my bro and sometimes alone, haven't touched the game for months now. But I'm always watching this dude lol, content is just amazing even for people that don't play the game or don't play as often. He keeps you updated and also has some very fun playthroughs with commentary, not to mention the edits that are in another level. Really a top notch content creator Woolie, hope you keep doing it.
yk be awesome if you were to record your mic audio as a seperate file too soy ou could add it into your videos without the music turning on then cutting off constantly
@@Marxon1134 yeah probably, but still if he recorded the mic audio separately while streaming then just shoved them both into the editing software, deleted the twitch audio and just used the mic recording that would work. and be easier than having to fade the audio in and out
Doesn't Twitch have a tool to remove the music from the VOD? "Soundtrack by Twitch". You can use it with your own music on steam and then put something without copyright for RU-vid.
Along with the darkness that others mentioned, you can also disable the output for audio channel 6 so that the music would appear live, but not in the VOD/clips. The current ducking is serviceable but still a bit awkward.
Playing with a mod that makes it so each stack of ego makes it convert items faster. Love picking it up on super long runs and just watching it suddenly zap your entire inventory.
I only got the DLC about a week ago, but Egocentrism was the first lunar item i got when i got back into the game and ran a chill drizzle run to reacquaint myself with the game and check out the new items. I had 76 stacks of it by the time i died to several blazing Grandparents because i was using Swarms and hit two shrines of the mountain. It felt BS to die literally immediately to the burn procs, but having that much Egocentrism was super fun to play with while it lasted. Definitely a fun item that I'll always say is fun but never pick up because I'll be grinding unlocks for the forseeable future.
I love the edits, adds a lot more flavor to the video. However when the items popped up on screen like shaped glass, tonic, and gesture, the screen didn't need to darken all that much.
the new editing is kinda a bit too annoying with the item highlight (especially the screen darkening), and when paired with the audio silence make its a bit more awkward. I do love the fact that you're trying out new styles, so yeah that's all I have to say thanks for coming to my TEDtalk
I think it's nice for newer players that might have showed up with the DLC and as MagicCowbell already said the muted audio is just copyright shenanigans.
I did an ego run once and I'm pretty sure it takes the most recent items you got, meaning that your oldest items will typically stay with you if you can pick other items up fast enough. It's been a while since my last ego run though, so I definitely could be wrong Edit: never mind the video literally disproves that
I dont get why the comment was talking about the darkening screen as if it was done too much, i only remember watching it happen like...3-4 times? and usually it was in important situations to give focus, like for instance making one see what ego does or what item was lost (dio for instance), something i'd never notice naturally
If you got an early egocentrism and a cleansing pool, couldn't you let ego eat all of your items, feed all but one ego to the pool, pick up all normal pearls but leave any irradiants on the ground, let ego eat the normal pearls, feed those egos into the pool, rinse and repeat until you have a fat stack of irradiants?
Fun little combo, use this item with the Goku character mod, or Vegeta and Trunks too. Since the item scales based on your base damage, everytime you transform, it gains a huge power spike.
