Egr and how it works in a new car 2021 . Should i block it ?

my egr valve got stuck open, and my car went into limp mode on my way back to UK from Europe. at around 52k miles. I rarely went around 3k rpm, so i guess its sort of my fault. I did take everything apart, and clean the egr valves, but the intake manifold is probably still full of carbon deposits.. I never used any valve cleaner / flush / diesel additive ever.. should i?

No, is useless to use them. Only way you can clean a manifold and valves is manually with the manifold off the car . Egr is the worst stupid idea for an engine. That and the dpf. Kills valves, turbos all of it just does damage to filter some particles .

@mihairadupop2491 I was wondering about blanking the egr, but if I do that without a Remap, the car goes into limp mode.. I would do that but I don't think it will pass mot anymore.. meaning I would have to remove everything + Remap again just to pass, then install everything and Remap again..

@@mihairadupop2491 I did. I know I need to clean everything inside, but how do I pass mot after and I blank the egr I the future

@@leordeansg egr and dpf are part of the anti pollution system. You can not take out one without the other. Mot has nothing to do with it there are ton of people passing mot with no dpf and egr removed. Including me. So if your dpf is ok still leave it there, remove your egr and clean it , remove manifold and clean it and clean the valves or have a company do you a walnut blast . Since you there put new gasket kits and take the flaps out and blank them with the kit and put new glow plugs . Do not fucking brake the glow plugs if you do not know how to remove ask a professional who does and guarantees not to brake them. Is a nightmare of a job and costly if you brake them. Put a new egr valve and a new throttle body is not worth cleaning them and is better to have new , they dont cost a fortune. Only remap and remove dpf if is fucked . If is ok let it be . When your done do an oil change and run like 3 bottles of diesel injector cleaner on a low fuel tank about a 1:4 put all of them bottles in and drive it on a motorway about 3000 rpm for like 100 miles . Also change all your vacuum hoses and the gasket in the pcv valve or put a new one is cheap too. Vac hoses change one by one so you don’t fuck it up . Bmw is shit about vac leaks is causing all sort of problems on 10 + years cars i just put all new as i do not want problem. Do not drop something into the engine not all valves are closed all times , half are open !!! So you must turn it to close with the glow plugs off.
