She's the most powerful channeler, yet she couldn't save her friends when they needed it most. That self-reflection will be good for her arc because after the arches, she probably needed therapy to channel

This kind of performance by Egwene gives me the feeling she is going places as an actress, because this will get attention. That's my feeling.

I know. It's a good thing they gave her all of Rands big story moments in both the season finales, so she could stand out.

It'll only confuse and annoy the book fans, show fans will just roll with it... she's the new Nyneve.

Okay, since you mentioned the finale I need to ask. How come Egwene was able to pick up the collar and use it on Renna? When she obviously knew she was picking it up to use as a weapon.

Compared with the books, I didn't like this characterisation. In the books she was rescued by her friends, here she just rescued herself like a mary sue in direct contradiction of the earlier explanation that she wouldnt be able to touch any of those devices. Then she then enslaved and murdered her enslaver making her just as bad as her enslaver. Not a hero by any definition. Her friends though, they are the heroes. At this rate she'll defeat the Dark One single-handedly.

@@Eldemaer all the characters in this have murdered people, that's just the price of war, kill or be killed. If Egwene hadn't done what she did, she eventually would have been killed, and risked the lives of many other innocent people. She did what she had to do to protect herself and others, it's about survival, and murder and killing is a part of survival in that type of dangerous world they live in, because there will always be people in their world who want to hunt them and kill them, and the only way to fight back and protect yourself is kill. So to say that Eqwene is not a "hero" for killing her enslaver while her friends are even though they too have also murdered people (mainly bad people) is contradictory too. And anyway her enslavers weren't "innocent" people, they have murdered innocent people too. There is a difference between killing bad people and killing innocent people, and her enslaver was not innocent.

@@Eldemaer Well friend, it is assumed that she could not touch her own bracelet, nothing was mentioned about not being able to touch someone else's, secondly, even in this world many slaves had to resort to killing to escape from their slavers, that does not make them good or bad, they were afraid for their families and those people were a danger to them and others had no choice. The same thing happened with Egwene and it's not that she would be happy but she wouldn't have cried. She cried because she lost her freedom and had to do a horrible crime to get it back. Renna didn't deserve anything less. She was a slaver. She talked about friendship between them, but she only wanted to turn Egwene into her fighting dog. She and the others like her are monsters and although killing is wrong, they cannot be seen as victims in this life if you hurt them. they will hurt you if you kill they will kill you you can't do something as horrible as what she did without expecting people to want something horrible to happen to you and finally yes they are heroes and no one wants heroes to kill but the world is not a fairy tale where everything turns out well the heroes face dangers that we can't even imagine many want to kill them there will come a time when they have to do something they don't want to do and it will hurt them and it won't be the last time but if they stay strong if they see their enemy as people, They respect life and use death as a last resort they will continue to be warriors of light, a monster is not the appearance it is the actions like Renna's and the others that make someone a monster

@@iamlinda100 You are right, unfortunately the world is not black and white, someday people will have to choose what is right and wrong and even when they think they are doing it right they will have doubts, the only ones who will be able to say if they made the right decision are the people they fought for. Egwene fought for herself but by doing what she did she saved others from Renna and the slavers who died in the tower killing is not the best solution but in the situation she was in it was the only thing she could do and she didn't do it By the way, with all of them she was willing to die for her freedom and the world gave her the opportunity to live and be free. All that remains is to live with what happened and become stronger to help those who could not escape.

the show is a steamy turd next to the books, and only exists because of the perverse need to take a mans accomplishments, and rewrite them so the man does nothing. its a literal walking abortion. Its a slamp in the face of the source aterial, if they wanted to tell this story they could have changed the names, and *no one* would have taken it as WoT

Her character in the books was one of the worst character personalities I have ever read. She was incredibly arrogant from day 1. In the show, she is WAAAAY better.

​@@thec9424I agree with you. I also hated to read her chapters specially after she belittles Nynaeve in tel'aran'rhiod. Thank God the show's representation of women has more natural feel to it and that they're not condescending towards men all the freakin time like in the books..

@LANFEAR93 Most of the women were written to be mean, arrogant bullies for some reason. Some chapters were a chore to get through and I have never reread those parts despite reading the entire series 3x.

​@@thec9424 well the books are written by men, what do you expect? alot of male authors write female characters either as weak and need men to save them, or it's the opposite they're strong but arrogant and condescending towards men, it's usually either one or the other. I've noticed that alot of men are just not good at writing good well-rounded female characters.

@iamlinda100 In this case, I believe it is ignorance more than malice. He put women at the forefront in a time when that was rare. The women in this series do a lot of amazing things and are extremely powerful and influential. I think that he literally never had a female friend and had no idea how to write their personalities. Seems his wife should have stepped in tho, cause sheeesh! At times I thought he hated women.

How can you say that when Rand's scenes from the last 2 books were given to the ladies? Egwene is a novice and is no match for a proper channeller much less a Forsaken and she holds up a shield vs Ishamael? That's ridiculous. Keep living in fantasy land that the boys are gonna get given anything to do. Girl power all the way.

@@Deuwl That last scene was overreaching I wont lie. But given what Egwene went through I let it slide. Too many important scenes happen in Book 3 and 4 with Mat, Perrin and Rand that they cant pass up on

Firstly, Ishamael was drained as he had just opened 6 forsaken seals (6!!!!!) and also he clearly didn't want to win .... He took the additional measure of releasing the forsaken because all he really wanted that day was to die at the hands of the dragon.... Egwene is no match to Ishamael , she just got lucky with all the help she had

Dude, stop making excuses that make no sense. Opening seals haven't been established in draining power at all in the show. Egwene should have been brushed aside like a fly like in the first round. How does a novice create a shield? This was Rand's fight once again stolen and given to the women. This Rafe guy has basically made the main character weak. The magic system in the show makes no sense. You can do stuff without training it seems. Lanfear getting trapped by Moghedien is a joke. Moggy is a coward and the weakest of the forsaken and is no match for Lanfear. I don't know how you can possibly watch this and like this krap when it doesn't resemble the Wheel of Time at all. I like how you had to come up with breaking seals drains power. That's a good one. @@chetanveersidhu753

One could argue the same with scenes with you know the Dragon Reborn in the first 2 books were cut and you think somehow they will keep these 'important' scenes in for the boys in the upcoming seasons? Perhaps. But you have no evidence to back up your claim. Just hope. I have evidence from what we have seen so far in the past 2 seasons. From what they have shown, I imagine these important scenes with the boys will again be reimagined where the girls play crucial parts.@@zyonhenderson67
