I need to talk !! This documentary is historic and the best I've ever seen! Light and more light on a fascinating historical stage, practically ignored by Egyptology as a period of decadence. This was the most mystical and elaborate time of religion in Egypt. Curtis lit up with a flash of lightning, a complete and unusual documentary. Crowned with an enigmatic voice from a postmodern priest of Ptah. The pieces from this era of divine worshipers in Italian museums are astonishing, they are intact as if they had been made yesterday. The little tomb in front of the worshipers' chapels at Medinet Abu appears very small, as all the pieces are in Italy and may have been discovered elsewhere in the early days of Egyptology at the beginning of the 19th century. From everything I've read and watched since I was a child, I reaffirm that this incredible documentary is already part of the History of Egypt. Congratulations !

The 25th dynasty wasn't ruled by "Nubians" it was ruled by Kush. That is the name the people of the dynastic kingdom used for the southern regions, even during the 18th dynasty, when they conquered the south and put in place something called "Kings son of Kush". That was an administrative position that was responsible for managing the lands to the South. And during this timeframe of the 18th dynasty and later, the Southern regions were incorporated into the dynastic kingdom as one empire and those Southerners incorporated into the culture and political system of the dynastic kingdom. And as part of this extension to the South, the priests of Amun and Amun worship was also extended to the South as being the origin and birthplace of Amun at Gebel Barkal. So that "Southern dynasty" technically extended all the day down to Kush. And this is why those Kushites invaded the north, under the pretext of a "holy war" to restore Maat and the glory of Amun who abided at Gebel Barkal and Piye the first to conquer, ruled from Napata in Kush and not from Thebes. Also, keep in mind that the South is from where the culture of the Nile originated and was periodically refreshed, such as the Middle Kingdom (prophecy of Neferti) and also the New Kingdom both of which originated from the South with archers from further South. In fact the Amun worship came to the forefront with the Southern kings of the Middle Kingdom. And the first use of the term gods wife of Amun actually originated with Ahmose Nefertari who was the wife of the first pharoah of the New Kingdom and worshiped as a divine ancestor in later eras. Also, keep in mind that the temple of Abu Simbel was built in the Upper Nile near Kush to partly celebrate the birthplace of Hathor and Queen Nefertari who also likely was from the South. Also, since Curtis likes mummies, it is important to note that the 21st dynasty of Herihor was a renaissance in culture on the Nile and it was during this period that most mummies and tombs that were plundered were repaired and restored. With most mummies found in the 19th century being from caches created in this era. Also this was the height of mummification on the Nile, as can be seen in the mummies of the 21st dynasty such as Nodjmet, who obviously has African features (ie, southerners). Most records indicate that a lot of the plundering in the prior eras came from the chaos in the North and the rise of the Libyan rulers in the north.

Great to see the history of Egypt being told from another perspective. There is a ton of new information that I gleaned from this documentary and I appreciate it. There are a few misleading comments here and there, but they are not worthy of mention. The Nubian conquest of Egypt was not the end of the invasion of Egypt. In fact, much of the conquests from outside of Africa and the decline of Egypt followed the Nubians, who had come from further up the Nile River, unlike the Assyrians who originated from the Levant outside of the continent. Reunification after the intermediate periods always came from the south and the interior of the continent. Egypt’s former glory was restored with the Nubian conquest. Instead of saying, “The Nubian Dynasty’s ruler in Egypt was only less than 100 years", I would say that the Nubian Dynasty, which amounted to the unification of four kingdoms - Upper and Lower Nubia and Upper and Lower Kemet, lasted for almost 100 years. This was quite a feat. I wish the narrator could have been a little less dramatic and I am glad that the race of these Nile Valley Civilizations was never mentioned here. Thanks for sharing.

Amenirdis is indeed a true successor to Sobekneferu and Hatshepsut - whose position as Gods Wife of Amun seems to have been instrumental in her later ascent. The role of God's Wife seems to have been intentionally diminished after Hatshepsut's "damnatio memoriae". Who put this role back into prominence? It seems to have been revived by the time Amenirdis took the mantle.

The so called “Nubians” didn’t adopt anything from “Egypt.” That Nile Valley culture and language was already there in the south. That’s where ancient kemetic culture comes from. The interior of Africa. Please can we stop acting like these two areas of the Nile are separate from each other. They are not. Upper Nile groups (“Nubians”) have always been in the lower Nile living and building with that group of people (“Egypt”). These are all African tribes in the Nile. Building that civilization and yes even fighting and warring with each other. Africans can have disagreements and wars to you know.

@sankofaafari4374
@sankofaafari4374 3 месяца назад
@@CurtisRyanWoodside It’s not about belief. It’s the truth and a factual party of Nile Vally history. What you just said is the standard answer from European academia and Egyptology. A very over generalized and simplistic one at that. It’s really not that simple as just looking a certain way. Africans have the most diversity in terms of looks on the planet. Even in the same location and same groups. In what way did they differentiate themselves? I hope you are not talking about the redfish brown skin? There are Nubian temples and tombs using that same exact color. It’s not really skin color anyway, but more symbolic. There are plenty of Nubia paintings and statues that look just like the Egyptians. That Tomb of Hoy for example. There are Nubians on that wall that disprove what you just said. There are brown and jet black skin tones. Facial features that look just like the Egyptians. What we call “Nubia” and “Egypt” today are not different like some Egyptology says they are.

@@CurtisRyanWoodside By the way, this is a very good documentary you did. I have no issue with that. I’m just bothered by the way these people of the Nile Valley civilization are separated and called enemies. Any civilization has had wars with each other. That’s pretty normal. Difference is nobody tries to cast out one group of people and call them different from each other with other historical civilization like European or Asia.
@CurtisRyanWoodside

Please go and watch my documentary Egypt and Nubia Sailing Lake Nasser. In there you can see the Egyptians separation from Nubia. The Amenirdis documentary also clearly shows the changes between them. The show themselves as holding down the Nubians. That in itself says a lot. They never show themselves as friends with them. Further more the words used by the ancient Egyptians against Nubians are far from kind. That’s all there for anyone to read.

No, they were not. Claiming Egypt and Nubia are the same is like claming Inidans and Chinese are the same because they worshipped buddhism.

@@jamesstewart917 ' I was engaging him fairly but he ain’t serious.' - How exactly I am not serious? I agree, you tried to be fair, and I actually was enjoying conversation. However if someone isn't serious - it is you. Sorry, but you cannot claim to be serious and at the same time call Northeren Egypt "Lower Kemet". There was never such nation. You are showing by that you are afrocentrist first and foremost and your goal will always be to uphold myth of Black Egypt. And if you call researcher 'right winger' without even showing example, that also doesn't look well. ' He says Africa was a Mediterranean civilization.' - No, I never said such thing.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Africa is continent, not civillization. EGYPT is Mediterranean civillization as it lays on Mediterranean coast of North Africa. Lastly, even if you disgaree with me, I don't know how you can endorse other person claiming obvious nonsens. Nubia and Egypt weren't the same. Saying they were is like saying Indians are Chinese.

@@jamesstewart917 'I stated it was right wing funded nonsense' - That is your opnion, but where is proof? It was well reserached excellent book. I just wrote college essay on Cleopatra's race swapping and this book was very helpful to examine this phenomenon. you are just angry because it exposes how nonsensical some afrocentric scholars are. 'You claimed the Africans never called Kemet Kemet' - No, I never said such thing. I said they never called Northern Egypt 'Lower Kemet'. As many afrocentrists, you aren't able to read properly and keep misquoting me. 'Mary L got eviscerated in their debate.' - I highly doubt. 😉 But I know she eviscerated many afrocentrists in her book since I had read it. 'This African Egypt thing got the White Kastle boys shook.' - I don't know what Whiet Kastle is.

@@CurtisRyanWoodside In this one they are right - Esarhaddon passed in 669 BC, while Taharqa in 664 BC. As for person in stela, I also was familiar with claim it depicts Taharqa's son, though I acknowledge that there might be aletrnative interpretation.
