Binging on your old videos and realizing we were in Egypt three months after you! We told anyone who would listen that they should be going to Egypt - no crowds!
Wow! so cool, I'm going this coming September and I just can't wait. We booked all of our tours with Seven tours Hurghada. So exciting. Thanks for sharing.
I found this video much more useful than the rest of yours. I hope you make more vids with tips, instead of just showing us what you saw, like you usually do.
Sorry you lost your footage, but you put together a great video anyway. I've been the pyramids and absolutely agree with every one of your tips. Although I live in Phoenix, I don't think I have ever been as hot as when I was crawling up that narrow shaft into the great pyramid, but I am so glad that I did. There is nothing compared to being able to see and touch these parts of history.
When I went it was like 120° F I was s u f f e r i n g. And I went in the great pyramid I fell back on the stairs, i was so scared but it was also so much fun! When I went in the room there was no guy so we got to take whatever pictures we pleased and because I'm Egyptian the fee is less than a tourist fee
Make sure you bring your own water...or you'll pay a hell of a lot for a small bottle. If you're getting pestered too much, make up your own language and you'll be left alone. Camel trips are fun, but it's the end price that will change the way you deal with these guys. Walk around the pyramids and get some extra fitness for the day.
Maybe you could do a blog on how to find a reputable guide. On our next trip we think we would like to hire a guide on occasion but have no idea how to go about doing it. Great vlog. Thanks.
@@annamcarthur3409 I didn't see it at first either. Turns out it's an email address, not a link, so I think that's why I looked past it. It's in the first sentence of the description.
I visited the pyramids over 40 years ago and it still ranks as one of the most amazing sites that I've ever been to. The video came out great even without the lost footage!
Kara & Nate - you guys are amazing! I cant imagine myself producing a vlog this good and this informative after losing all my footage. Yes, I've been there, bought the Tshirt. I used to produce corporate and political work (36+ yrs) and have blown it embarrassingly a coupla times - not with your grace and positivity though! Kara's goofiness and creative edits, and Nates amazing videography blows me away. You are the benchmark. Love you guys. More strength to you! Keep on keeping on...
I found your vlogs when I was preparing for my Bangkok trip. I started from the beginning over the summer and have finally caught up. I've finally decided why I prefer yours over any others....I am originally from Nashville so that might have something to do with it...Nope...You guys just are so straight forward and no hype and artsy crap. As Anthony Bourdain said....Be a traveler not a tourist and you are travelers. Like you when I travel I go to get lost. Thanks for the entertainment and knowledge.
I recommend visiting the Dashour pyramids, just an hour from Giza, to experience a place just as you imagined. The three big pyramids there are only rarely visited and you will be almost alone there.
It's funny how RU-vidrs will shy away from being considered professionals as soon as there's fees involved of any kind but then when people tell them they don't really work and that their lives are all pleasure they act like they're more professional than people who work 'normal' jobs lol
I keep finding myself watching ur older and newer videos and its so amazing how u guys always make the best of the situation. Super helpful practical video. Feel bad u lost the footage. Still amazing tho
Love the promotion for Egypt! Everything you say is right :) It’s our Summer holiday destination for the last 11 years! Always felt safe.. the people are nice. Couldn’t imagine not going there.
K and N! Even though you lost your footage you did a GREAT job at conveying EVERYTHING to us through your wonderful explanations, short snippets of video, and still shots! Just loved it and can't wait to experience it all myself! Again, great job amidst the loss of footage!
I totally agree that Mostafa facebook.com/Sontafa is the best guide to take when visiting Egypt. He is so rich the knowledge and history of his country. My Canadian friends and I took him on our tour of Egypt which included the visit to the Pyramids and the Nile Cruise and we loved it. His rates are also very fair and we felt extremely secure with him. He made our trip worth while.
Wish I could go back there without all of the people bugging me for money it really killed the experience. Everywhere I went in Egypt people would surround me trying to sell me stuff constantly.
I've never been to your channel before, and dont know anything about what u guys do. I can only ASSUME that u guys get to travel around the world, checking out multiple, multiple cool, and historically significant places. I'm sorry u lost all ur video of this trip. But thank you for wut u did provide. I think u guys are more "tourist types" and that's completely cool. U get to do AMAZING things TOGETHER. And that is truly priceless. I beg yas to plz, PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE, answer my questions about traveling to Egypt...
Looks like "Plan B" worked out just fine.. You need to have your adventures on the Travel Channel. You two are just awesome, plus you really complement each other which comes across very well in your videos.... LM
Such a shame that you lost some footage. But you create so much stuff - (my great compliments for this) - that I suppose it was inevidible that something would go wrong sometime. And there are worse things that could have happened though, aren't there? Keeping safe and well is the most important thing of all. And not getting your gear stolen or destroyed is I think a good second. The video you did manage to make is fine as well. Enjoy the rest of your trip. You are always very much worth watching. You got me addicted to travel vids actually. I not only follow you now, but 5 or 6 others as well. There is quite a community of you wandering vloggers.
I know the feeling well. I went on a cruise around the Nile in 1990. We went to Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Israel. When I sent off my films to be developed everything came back blank. The annoying thing was I’d just bought a new camera and tested it before I went. I was so heartbroken 😭 I did get my friends to get copies of their photos. However I was more interested in the architecture and took pictures of building etc. Whereas my friends had taken lots of pictures of boys and their camera work was rubbish. Still it was better than nothing. I’ve always wanted to go back and hoped to do some of the same experiences again. However I have loved your vlogs on the places where I went and it’s reminded me of some fun times! So thank you 😊 Got to say, only discovered you a couple of weeks ago and I can’t stop watching your videos. Can’t wait for the world to open again and see where you go to next 😀
I just got back a week ago from Egypt. I am a solo female traveler and Egypt was NOT SAFE for me to travel alone. On the cruise and with a tour I was ok, but the 6 days I was alone, I was: sexually assaulted, had guards and hotel staff (men) try to enter my room and I was consistently hassled on the street. I went there because all these RU-vidrs were saying how safe it was but you guys get perks. Yes I would suggest people go, but pay for a tour and a guide the whole time. Get out of Cairo as fast as you can, as it is so rough. I have traveled all over and hands down Egypt was the hardest country I have ever been to.
Welch Thank you for being honest about your experience. I had similar experiences in Morocco and no one seems to understand. I’ll definitely be sure to hire a guide/join a tour if I go to Egypt.
Hey, Im going to Egypt in Feb with my friend and we are hoping to do the Pyramids. What currency did you use over there?? Im not sure what will be the best. Also you mention about covering up. I not sure what would be appropriate to wear. Thank you, you looked like you had an amazing time.
I enjoyed this video A LOT! I loved the combination of your “point & shoot” along with Insta stories & your tips/commentary! Made it super fun to watch!! 🧡
You did a spectacular job even with the limited footage. Everything looked so nice and professonal. I really thought your tips were insightful and informative. Keep on vlogging😀
I think this was actually better than a full day of pyramid footage! Your tips were spot on, the photos were great, and there are thousands of POV videos of the site, anyway. More interesting would be walking around the city of Giza, and getting impressions of that.
1) It is so nice to see you back. 2) For losing all your footage, you've done an expert job of creating yet another awesome K&N travel experience. Our family went from "meh, Egypt" to "this is so cool we gotta get there." Thank you!
Super helpful! Thank you. I’m planning a trip to Egypt for my husbands 50th birthday (#1 bucket list destination for him) and any and all information is really great! Love ALL of your videos. Been binge watching (from the start)for a while now!
I had the chance to visit Egypt last year and I found it interesting that you guys could only go into the Great Pyramid Our tour group got the chance to go inside the largest and the smallest pyramids, the middle one was closed for safety reasons. This vlog definitely made me nostalgic and I really cannot wait to go back to this beautiful country.
Guys I must say that you can recover the footage if your memory is not damaged by formatting your memory card and then by some good recovery software.. but still a great video guys and I missed you in the meantime you were offline...Warm regards
This is incredible! Not only the pyramids, and your advice, but also the way you put together this vlog. Top notch!! This spot is on my bucket list!!!! So glad you got to experience the pyramids - and at least have your photos and memories to keep!!
Even though you unfortunately lost your footage we still loved your video - will definitely be using your tips in the near future when we head to Egypt!
WHat's wrong with Pizza Hut ?! 8^P hahahah we love Pizza Hut !!! Viva Italia !!!... Not really hahahaha :P Thanks for mentioning that it's a Muslim Country... Yep ! It's really not Las Vegas... It's the real thing so as Pizza Hut.
A neat idea would be to see how people live in the places you visit. Sometimes I wonder what their homes look like. That’s just me though. Thank you for sharing. It’s my dream to do what you do, but do to circumstance and choices, I’m living vicariously through you. Thank you!
I'm just getting to your Egypt videos in this isolation time. Mustafa was our tour guide in Egypt when we went in 2010!! We went there to visit friends who lived there. He took us everywhere for a week! It's so cool to see his face! What a small world.
wow cant comprehend you guys enough what a tremendous work you guys did kept it real and Fun at the same time , i always want to visit egypt and now i'll make time to go , just had a question what airlines you guys took and where you guy stayed just to have the similar kind of adventrous trip , again Marvellous Work and Pyramids looked amazing, did you guys watched the movie " The Mummy " while you guys were still there lmao would had been one movie adventure also.
So glad you guys are back at it, sorry about the lost footage. Man, touching the oldest stone building is super duper cool!!!! Some of our bucket list things are just quirky cool things like that. Thanks for the tips. Safe travels!
It is still a beautiful video with what clips you were able to save. I would love to go travelling like you do but alas I cannot afford. But I get to watch RU-vidrs that do travel, so thank you for your wonderful videos. Can't wait to see where you two are going next!!! Love from🇨🇦❤
Many reasons come to mind why great is included the name. One to excite the curiosity, the device you were in SURVIVED THE GREATEST FLOOD humanity has ever seen.
Oh to have to pay extra and then lose the footage is like salt in the wound! But way to make it work with what you had! After binging from the start and running out of videos to watch, I'm glad you guys are back!
Did you lose your footage due to a malfunction from the equipment or from government officials? I missed it if you mentioned the reason. I just watched a food RU-vidr and he had a horrible experience constantly being harassed. This was more recent but I would love to hear if you had a bad experience while there and did you feel unsafe at any time? We are going 10/2023.
Oh gosh! You loosing your footage brought me back bitter memories of a similar situation this past December. Working for a school project which was due this past January, had to fly back home ASAP to work on editing videos, once at home i came to the heartbreaking discovery that all the footage taken, wasn’t in my flash drive. I had spent no less than $3k on that trip exclusively for this purpose and just to come to find out that the footage wasn’t there. It was sickening and absolutely heartbreaking. TRUST ME WHEN I TELL YOU THAT I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOU, GUYS! Thank you for making the best out of this bittersweet experience.
You guys!! I can’t imagine how bummed y’all were to have lost the footage BUT as many have said this video is AWESOME! And so helpful! I love watching your normal vlogs... like religiously! Ha! But it would be so cool if you guys incorporated little videos like this more often too! Like tips for doing the Trans-Siberian or other tourist bucket list places! It’s so helpful to hear the logistics. You guys rock!
