We had a eh barrel proof yesterday with a stagg 23C and the EH was unbelievable how smooth it was for a 65.5%er. The stagg was so much more raw and punch’s you right in the nose. The eh you can drink it all day long. Paid $108 for the barrel proof but we agreed the eh was easier to drink and went down just silky smooth

I love both Stagg 22a and ETBP batch 12 . Same mashbill, but two very different beasts. Stagg jr tastes younger and more brash. EH Taylor BP tastes like absolute BT whisky in syrup form. The max for either should really be 150-199. Secondary is bananas. Yet ETL is going for more than both in some places.

Copper penny note🤔…sugar🤔…tangy🤔; I’ve never picked up any of those on CEHT Barrel Proof. Leather note, yes, but very slight. I do agree with $150 max for CEHT BP. Also agree that Stagg is fuller, woodier, heavier and overall better value/buy.

I've heard there are actually micro batch laser codes if you look under the tube. Must have gotten the 23A120199 instead of the 23B110199

I agree, I found way more spice notes in EHTbp and it surprised me as well. Batch 10 I own but I liked 12 better from a sample.

One of my favorites of 2023! First bottle for $100. Backup for $150. Maybe I need to go back to it again, but this was top 5 for me and is top 10. I like it better than Russell's 13 (that was ok to me, Rickhouse kicked ass). Stagg22A is my favorite recent Stagg. I'll have to throw it in a blind with Cellar Aged, Rickhouse, and (JD12 or EC C923). Michter's 10 is it's own monster and won't go in the blind.

Thanks, I thought people would bring the hate on me. We all have different palates, that's why there are tons of different bourbons. I know I don't have a refined palate, but I know what I like. Good luck on your search.@@holysmokescharles

I won this bottle for 35$ in a draw and traded it for a Russells 13 B2, no ragerts.

@@jasonhunt2909 thats correct, and in canadian dollars, both rr13 and ehtbp are literally not in my country, they dont even exist so both rare and im not a huge buffalo trace guy.

So I have not had the barrel proof but I cannot fathom paying $300+ for this. If I could just pick one up any day for $100 or so, sure I’d be in. But as is, there is so much good whiskey out there that doesn’t require the cost or the hunting this does.
