The cross examination of The Accused by the panel of judges. Judge Halevi questions The Accused in German. The question of gain in telling the truth or on the other hand, the interest in hiding it, is discussed.
-The different treatment of Germans towards Jews than the one of other "war enemies" , for example the Dutch versus the Dutch Jews;
-Judge Halevi quotes the comparison often drawn by the Accused between the extermination of the Jews and the bombing of German cities, and between the killing of Jewish women and children and the killing of German women and children by bombing. The Accused agrees there is a difference but tries to give an explanation.
