The REAL question is how much will it be once the stealerships get ahold of them. I love motorcycles through and through but man, I wish they'd just sell directly to customers for a change. My Royal Enfield journey began on the 535 Continental GT. As much as I loved that bike, the metallurgy and build was pretty bad. Then, I moved on to a 650 Continental GT...the build quality was head and shoulders better than the previous Royal Enfields! I'm really happy for the brand to start getting more of their mainstream recognition that they deserve.
@@PeakMotorcycles I agree one hundred percent! The Himalayan was the step in the right direction and then the 650’s took it to a whole another level. There’s still a little ‘something’ that’s missing from them. I don’t want to say cheapness or they look cheap, maybe just a little too scaled back. But this new meteor, it seriously looks the package. From your video, bike looks top notch and it doesn’t look too scaled down or too overdone, it’s just right
R.E. seems to be making great strides in their development. I’d love to have a Himalayan to round out the low end of my moto stable. Still looking for something in the 1000+ range, as well. You did a great job here, Andre, considering the crowds and all. Thanks for the look around.

Lindgren) Born in SUOMI-FINLAND (model 1949) I started riding, absolute beginner after four years of challenging TKR operations, and revisions in Sweden and here in her in THAILAND. After wheelchair (4-wheel) and crutches. My Thai wife bought me a motorcycle. The price point, ergonomics flat-footlight cruiser ergonomics. Fitted me like a glove. Also fully equipped i.e.crash bars, turn-by-turn navigation and passenger seat (pillion or billion 1,000,000,000?) The motorcycle for a 72 year-old TKR survivor. Trust me! But, 18,000 km later. Vibrations! Wry Neck and Numb fingers. I've had enuff of my 350 "Thumper". I need a "twin". Remember the old Jag advertisement "There is no replacement for displacement". Nice one buddy appreciate that. Personally think this is the best bike they have made to date. Will be very interesting to see how they price it , will it be more than an interceptor , maybe as its a little more refined usd forks etc.. they really are going from strength to strength at the moment its great to see.
It’s great to see the evolution. Perhaps a bit of the Japanese getting their act together in the 70’s and becoming world leaders. RE aren’t there yet but each new bike edges closer. We shall see what’s next. Water cooled Himalayan I hope.
If only RE would expand its dealer network here in Canada and the USA. The nearest dealer to me is an eight hour drive away so I will not be making a purchase. Same reason that I sold my MG V7.
That is a way... not sure how far I can drive in 8h? France probably. Belgium and the Netherlands too. Maybe even Germany! You need a smaller country. (Or more customers for RE to make the dealers sustainable!)
They are aiming to launch 4 new models a year. Of those on the stand, the Scram 411, Classic 350, Hunter 350 and Super Meteor 650 are all new for this year.
RE obsession with under powered bikes continues! Make no mistake this is a very heavy bike (for a 650cc). The wheel base seems stretched (compared to the Interceptor} which will make riding in the city a bit of bummer. I will stick with what I have.
You’re right, except this isn’t a city bike, it’s a cruiser. It’s not made for tight turns through traffic. It’s made for open roads. As for the power and weight, I think it’s quite normal for a cruiser. Though not exactly the same, look up BMW’s R18 boxer. That’s an 1800cc twin and it makes 91hp. This is more than the RE, but it also weighs 427kg (for the transcontinental). You have to change your mindset. This isn’t a sports bike or a city bike. I think it will do quite well.
Is there a Himalayan 350? I haven’t heard of that. There were suggestion that the 450 water cooled might launch, but it didn’t. There’s a Scram in there somewhere (and a few other Scram specific videos on the channel too)
Not really excited about the shape of the new 650 Meteor ..looks like a "Bobber"!...personally have never cared for the "Bobber"/"Cruiser" style bikes.. but the fit & finish looks great!... I hope an ADV 650 twin is coming ... but also interested in the Himalayan 450 twin if it can keep up with our 80mph highway speeds here in the western USA
@@KevinDaken I live in the Peak District and nearly everywhere has a 50mph limit. A few 60’s and a short stretch of A6 dual carriageway, but yes, I think I saw that the 30 was becoming 20 in Wales. Not sure if that was an environmental thing or for safety?

It's a cruiser. Though the 350 Meteor has 20hp for 200Kg, so it's nearly double that. If you haven't tried one, I can definitely recommend it. It doesn't sound like it would work, but it's a really pleasant surprise. (My 350 Meteor is on the channel if you're curious)

Are you sure? For what and whom? I thought the same about the 350 Meteor, 200kg and 20hp didn’t make sense to me. Most of my bikes are 70hp+, two are nearly double that. And then I rode it, and now I get it. I think it’ll do just fine.
@@PeakMotorcycles yeah it's all about that Royal Enfield feel, they made this Bike so beautiful that nothing else will matter especially the fit and finish and top quality materials used.
For a cruiser the power is enough. All day cruising at 75mph/120kmph is more than enough for a wide out chest/foot forward position with minimal wind protection
No one will make a bike that everyone likes. That would be boring! I’m sure there’s enough that love it, though the design won’t work for everyone including you. I quite like what they’ve done, but I doubt I’d buy one. May I ask how you know it’s a very bad design? I get that you don’t like it, which is fine, but by bad design do you mean you don’t find it beautiful? I’d like to understand if you are stating an opinion or a fact. Thanks
I always hated Royal.Enfield. I like the Jawa better. Of the vintage times. Here in my country RE was always a senior.b8ke. And Jawa was for the youth.
