91' baby right here.... need to ask my mom to find the VHS Tape and the VHS rewinder so I can rewatch 1998 El Sereno Elementary School Talent Show where I danced to this song with a childhood friend🕺...90's was and forever will be the best years for me but I respect the 80's and 70's
@@jamescheddar4896 It's hard not to, when you get into the beat...it's a happy jam, and it makes you get happy feet even if the song is about depression. It's a mood lifter for sure!
*"Im blue da be dee da be die"* *"I will bleed i will die"* *"If i were green i would die"* *"I would beat up a guy"* *"I will need apple pie"* *"I believe i can fly"* *"I would yeet up a guy.."* Edit : Wow i never got 1k likes until now thanks!- Edit 2nd : almost 2k
@@WafflesCookToo there were many points in earth's history where the planet was nearly covered entirely with water. mostly before the appearance of life.
For years I did not realize that this song was about depression. Ironic that from the very first time this beautiful tune came into my depressed world, my mood lifted. This, everyone time "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" is played on my set list. For those of you brothers and sisters that suffer with any type of mental issues may you find peace, and please keep fighting!
I have a mental illness but aint fighting it... Instead i just live with it and its even better than when i was taking the pills. But on behalf of most of us with spécial dark illness : thanks 🙃👍
They used phonetics for the da ba Dee part. It's sounds innocent but if you say it fast enough it begins to sounds like "if I would bleed I would die" but for some people they heard something different.
This song is literally the perfect embodiment of when you're happy you enjoy the beat and when you're sad you understand the lyrics cuz this song is literally about a person who has depression but the music is so upbeat edit MOTHER IM POPULAR
It's like this... The upbeat is to resemble the facade we put as happy good people to the people we know. The lyrics represent what we feel on the inside. Well imo
This song is the most nostalgic for me. It defines my childhood and really brings back intense memories and feelings I’m afraid I’ll never truly feel or experience ever again.
One of the best memories of this song is when me and some friends were in a car. They were moving and we rocked this the whole way through town to drop me off. We were all singing to it, bobbing our heads, windows down, it was a whole vibe. I'll never forget that.
This brings back memories of the tail-end of my clubbing days when I shuffle-danced to an extended version of this tune on the floor, and some nameless chick decided to come and do the same alongside me... Everyone noticed our moves and proceeded to gave us space in the center... When the music finally ended, she wandered off into the crowd, and I never saw her again... That was about 25 years ago!
Memories of being a child, struggling to stay awake, 1am at an Italian wedding, music still blasting and parents still vibing while you're laying on three connected chairs as a makeshift bed.
HAHAHA we grew up in such a wild time.I remeber the late party of my parents and all us kids sleeping on chairs.. too exuashted to play. GOD I SO WISH WE STILL THERE
“All day and all night, everything he sees is just blue. Like him, inside and outside. (…) everything is blue for him, himself and everybody around. ‘Cause he ain’t got nobody to listen…”
This song is almost 25 years old but still better than 80% of what we have today. If you weren't alive when this came out, know this song did rule the world at one point.
I was listening to this song when I was around 3 or 4. I was born in 2000. It's an amazing song. I also grew up listening to the black eyed peas and Pink.
Same here. I was born the same year as this song was released (1998) and my dad would play this non stop while holding me and rocking me around as if I was dancing. He would do this trick where he pretended to throw me up in the air and so he'd catch me. How do I know this if I was an infant? Well, you see, he had this vintage VHS camera and he would film tapes of us all the time. Now my father is gone (passed away when I was 13), the camera and the tapes are sadly not working anymore and the only thing I have to remember those days is this song. But they will always exist in my memory and so will he. Thank you dad, for introducing me to this song and good music~~🖤
