on our journey home we spotted the beautiful Eilean Donan castle so we had a nice wee stroll through the gardens of it before heading to loch Carron. a place where my family went on holiday when I was younger.

We’re Dean & Nala, and we’ve been best friends since December 2018. I was cycling around the world when I heard Nala meowing out for me somewhere in the Bosnian mountains. With no intentions of keeping Nala, I knew i had to save the wee kitten and take her to the vet - but I was well aware of the fact that it might be a bit of a challenge considering I only had a bike. However, despite my concerns, Nala quickly climbed out of the front bag on the bike handle and straight onto my shoulder. Since then, we’ve been travelling the world together. Nala reminds me of my neighbours cat. He visited me when I was in pain with line of duty injuries & when he was with me I forgot my pain. I miss little puss alot. He was like a communal cat & always there to offer comfort in exchange for a small snack & a drink. He usually just walked into my home & made him self at home. Cats are amazing & I feel they have a form of healing power.

That castle makes me wish for one of my own! Thanks Dean for showing it to us. If they knew how well mannered Nala is, they let her in everywhere. Every time I see the rain, I thank heaven that you and Nala have Nessie now! Even if she leaks, it is much safer than relying on a tent or a scrap shelter!

It was too bad that they wouldn't let Nala in the castle but she looked like she enjoyed walking and sniffing the beautiful grounds. I live in New Zealand. We have wet and windy cold winters here. I like the castle visit. Scotland is steeped in history. New Zealand is a young country so we don't have a rich history like yours. Nala is the cutest cat.

Dear Dean & Nala, thank you for the wonderful video! The Drone was perfect .. It showed the gorgeous Scotland! If I had one wish I would wish somebody would drop me off there & leave me until I was no more... I'm sorry that you're getting so much rain ...The Castle was awesome.. I used to watch Outlander just to look at the beauty .. the green of Scotland .. The Castles.. I told one of my friends I can see you Dean in a kilt belonging to one of the Clans.. Nala's quite a traveler she just seems to adapt to whatever comes her way.. I thought the place where you stayed was a unique warm room.. I do feel happy knowing that both of you have a place to stay that is warm an dry instead of the tent or between two trees.. Although it does look great to see You & Nala on the bike occasionally. My Hope Is that you do get to go to Spain.. My son went two years in a row & said the food was out standing .. The beauty of the different ancient cathedrals & architect was worth going to see.. Scotland's beautiful isolation shows up so well in the sunshine - but after an ongoing series of grey skies, cold winds & rain, rain, rain - we can understand your longing for the sunny & warmer Mediterranean weather. Watching you drive without wipers reminds me of the first of the two Beetles that I owned. It was fuses that were the problem. I'd put a new fuse in and sometimes it would last a week and sometimes it would blow the first time I turned the wipers on. No one could figure out the reason why, so I always carried some spares, but I remember doing a lot of driving in those days without the benefit of wipers. Had some scary times. So be careful, you two.

An early happy birthday to Nala! I used to give mine an entire can of food and not yell at her all day, regardless of her behavior. Play the mirror game with a hand mirror and a patch of sun. Or her favorite toy, which had fishing-type nylon on a string, so couldn't be left out when I was away. Thought that was as special as it could get for a cat. 🙂
