I have just bought one of these on your recomendation, you mentioned you are a carpenter, so if your using it, it must be ok. I've had an entry level Performance for what must be 20yrs, was never the easiest machine to work with, but served me well. Thanks for the video.
Aldi sells the identical table saw under their Workzone brand and it has the fence rail extending both sides of the blade and to the full width of the table with the extensions. It also has a laser guide but I found that to be superfluous and removed it. The runner of the crosscut fence is also an improved version.
From what I read & seen from post's on different sites regarding this saw I went & bought the excel 7471 which is by far a better product for budget buyers & has an extending table + they can be bought for around £135 online at present
I saw two on display in the same shop in "Obi" in Bronowica, Krakow and the first one surprised me in that the fence was so solid but I assumed it was a one off because it's very cheap to buy, but then when I was leaving the store there was another one on display so I stopped to have a look and it too had a rock solid fence, so from the fence point of view it's impresive 😁👍
When i started off doing diy many years ago now! i had an Einhell chop saw it was a fantastic bit of kit .This video brought back fond memories, great review, great video thanks
As I rarely saw using the parallel fence on the left side of the blade I just unscrewed the rail and moved it to the right as the extending table has holes on the side as well. The downside is that the measure tape won't tell right but I already have been used to check the width with my tape measure anyway 😎
Thank you for posting. Proper review from knowledgeable man. Just got one and the fence like yours set on the left. Now I know how to correct and set it on the right hand side !
Was looking at gettingr one off these as i only need something ile be using now and again. After watching your review ive decided this is deffinitly good enough and at the right price...Thanks
Thank you for showing this! I almost bought one! What a crap! Bloody shops are not displaying tools anymore. I went to b and q and wickes, none of them had any table saw set up, so we can view it. Everything is in a bloody box, products are deliberately hidden form the customer, and the only chance left is to watch a nano picture over the computer screen and read dodgy reviews about stuff. So thank you for the in depth review. It was abundant enough to scare me away from buying this bullshitt!
Thanks for uploading this video. Now that you owned this saw for almost 4 months, what do you think of it? Any major disappointments? I'm considering buying the same one.
Hi Johnny, the negatives I have found up until now is the noise level (really should of saved and got a saw with an induction motor) the lack of extension for the fence to attach. I am also thinking about making a quick emergency stop paddle to fit over the stop button, just incase. I would consider how often you will be using it, if you spend a lot of time ripping etc you might be better off getting something a bit more refined. DJ
@Johnny Butoch I keep looking at the Clarke ccs12 from Machine Mart it is around £270. Take a look at Badger Workshop RU-vid channel as Matt is given one to try and you can hear how nice and quite it is. I would think any Dewalt or Bosch will be very pricey but I don't know which if any have induction motors. You would have to ask the manufacturers Sorry.
I have one like it and all the bits on it that are black or red are flimsy and cant handle many tasks. Overall shitty attachments and base plate, but good saw, cuts nice, just need to make a lot of sleds and jigs for it.
I've just found this video and I'm so glad I did. I've just got one these built up that a bought year ago didn't have space as quick as a thought and a got it in flash sale so couldn't resist. Can I ask 2 things how accurate do u think the angle is and what did u use to pull dust extraction out the back the saw. I'm having trouble finding 40mm fittings to come out the extractor port to go main extraction unit. 🏴👍
Thanks for the review. Please can you tell me if you can get different blades i.e. coarse for finer wood i.e. MDF and a blade for such as bathroom cladding PVU?
It is decent for an amateur woodworker? I want to learn working, trying to construct diy soundwoofers and things needed in my home. Is it worth 160 euros, o you recommend something else to start in that price range?
How would you use the saw to cut a channel in anything with a sizeable width when that arm is blocking the back of the saw blade? Is that just for the extraction, I.e removable or can you actually not pass wood completely over the blade and back again? A better way of saying it is can the riving knife and extraction part both be removed leaving just the saw blade for cuts that aren't through cuts? Thanks
Hi great detail review, quick question, what would you thing about this table for long pieces of wood? I need to cut some wood flooring board (1.90), a bit worry the board will move up and down...thanks
@@InTheWorkshop Ahh great stuff thanks. I'll have to nip over. I'm just gonna build a TV bench and I'm not willing to spend 100's on one either. It's for a pretty huge TV. But the prices for them from retailers is eyewatering.
hi, i know video is old but have just been given this saw and i'm finding that the guard isn't allowing wood to pass. I have the blade so teeth are just above my piece i'm cutting and this then doesn't allow the wood to pass the end of the guard? any advice? Thank you
I don't have the guard fitted to mine anymore so just trying to remember. Don't do the knob up too tight or the wood won't lift the guard as it passes under. Hope this is of help 👍
That's a really useful, very informative review, thanks. I've never used a table saw before but was thinking about buying one of these for occasional diy use. I was a bit concerned about what you said about the body being plastic because I was hoping to sit the saw on a wooden base unit (possibly with castors on, to make it a bit more portable inside a small shed workshop). Do you think the saw needs to be mounted on the legs that it comes with, to make the plastic body more rigid, or would it be ok on a wooden base?
It does need the legs to make it ridged but you might be able to make a frame that supports it. You would need ear defenders as the saw is very loud. Thanks for watching 👍
@@InTheWorkshop thanks for your thoughts about this, much appreciated. I’m starting to think that a Clarke table saw from Machine Mart might be a more robust option, but £130 or £155 though!
China is making INCREDIBLE tools and machines considering their price, I have many Chinese (none of them are clones, all are legit brands with many generic parts, chainsaw, table saw, hammer drill, etc.) and have paid themselves many times, none have broken after making a couple of houses, cutting many trees, etc. No question that the strong brands are better but much pricier.
These were early videos I made so gradually been using music less. I always thought adding music would stop people being as bored with me rabbiting on.
Thinking of getting one of these, so reviewing all videos. On your point of the rail not extending along the extension, if you see ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MEkyJkkBsG8.html around 9:20 in, looks like the rail can be simply moved along on the mounting holes , but I guess you may have discovered that by now.
I agree, this video was made a year ago when I first started RU-vid. I cannot take the music off this old video but would if I could, I have learned since then 👍
