El Marabino by Antonio Lauro and revised by Alirio Diaz. Played by me, Samantha Muir. This is a beautiful, (but quite tricky to play!), Venezuelan Waltz. El Marabino is the name given to someone who comes from the city of Maracaibo. It is a jolly piece to brighten up the winter!
The sheet music is published by Caroni Music. It is included in Works for Guitar, Volume 2 C.2002, Great Composers Latin America - Venezuela, Antonio Lauro.
The photos are by my friend Josie Elias. The opening flowers are a composite of the wildflowers taken on one short walk in the countryside near Javea, Spain. To see more of Josie's pictures please visit her website :

Very smooth performance Samantha. Delightful. I love Antonio Lauro waltzes. I already play Vals Venezolano no.2 and no.3 and right now I'm learning El Negrito. I'll put El Marabino on my list! As you said, they are small pieces, but take a considerable amount of effort to play them beautifully. For whom is not a pro musician like me, it may take a few weeks or even few months. Congrats.

@MultiChief1 Indeed, I feel this performance is similar to how I play the piece, there is a very natural tempo and nuances that are very satisfying the discover in the flow of the music, especially the slightly rubato/slower/softer return to the A section in this performance. I've always done that though it isn't in all "professional" recordings.

I love your arrangmenet, I'm currently learning this and it indeed is a complex one. Very quick changes/ stretches and odd right fingerwork. Reminds me when I was learning "Rosita!". Very impressive how incredibly fluid it sounds from you. Cheers!
