8:20 On Armenian dark age spears, I gave up one match after a frustrating loss the previous one and went full mass farm in dark age, no boars taken, goats and farms and berries. my opponent was mongols, went big scouts that showed up before I even clicked up but because I had armenians I just made spears anyways and was totally fine. Got to feudal by the time they archer switched and was able to go up to castle quite a bit quicker in the end even while adding in skirms Side note, the 100 hp champs are great fun, they take SO LONG to die

okay this was insane i was looking at the time left and was like oh so max sweeps and then he just gives up and there's time for a super short game 3

Spoiler Game 2 I thought was slightly odd strategy, normally you'd turtle like that because you see a significant Castle Age advantage to yourself, a big power unit to transition to or a crazy boom. Not sure I see that possibility here. Sometimes you just end up on the back foot though I guess.

Making mass camels 🐪 against mostly monks and siege and no gold cost cavalry instead of scout-line units is dubious. It is more that it puts you at unnecessary risk because the opponent has a chance to kill so much value in resources. *Maybe* you can get away with not scouting and pushing deer 🦌 in Cross/Four Lakes if you Drush yourself and you build navy fairly quickly as you have units you can defend and scout with. That was probably the Drush player's plan.
