Dave could have been incredibly condescending, but wasn't. I mean, there were jokes, but I really didn't feel like he was making fun of anything. That's pretty cool.
my first impression was to ridicule them for their awkwardness, but they are just eccentric people enjoying their hobby. I can appreciate that. I love the respect that Prez shows too, especially with the art show kids.... another class act.
I used to work at the place that held this show. Middlesex Community College! The day before this show when they setup this event there were literally truckloads of gerbils showing up to the college. It was fascinating and not a single person believed me when I told them about this show being held at the college until I showed them pictures of dozens of gerbils getting unloaded at the college.
Head Gerbil Guy: "....gerbil breeders...hobbyists...that sort of thing...but surprisingly, some of the top gerbils that end up winning prizes, can come from pet stores" Pres: " It just shows that its not always breeding right. Its nature vs. nurture" Head Gerbil Guy: "Thats right"
You know what, if this is what people like to do then Awesome. These seem like really nice people and I’m glad they have an outlet, and that Pres wasn’t a dick.
I don't understand "viva bro". MrKmack1489 said "This can't be real life." I presumed he was talking about the American Gerbil Society Show. I said "It is," as in it is real. It is real life. Of course there are shows for gerbils. I have two gerbils myself, right now.
Gerbils make great pets and gerbil shows are a fun activity to do together with your kids. Here is a another video, this one made by a couple of film makers who spent the day at the show can be found on the vimeo site /66122597
