Colombia no longer depends musically on the three great artists of a few years ago. Now there are more than 100 names that are heard all over the world. The music is so diverse that it ranges from vallenato to punk, and in between are traditional rhythms of the country fused with other sounds from the world. It is precisely this that makes Colombian artists one of the most attractive in the Latin American industry. Media such as The Guardian, The New York Times and Rolling Stone speak of the moment of effervescence the country is going through. Even Songlines UK, one of the most authoritative music publications in the world, said in 2016 that Colombia had "the most interesting and vibrant music scene in South America." Also the director of Rolling Stone Colombia and the Almax Festival, Diego Ortiz, affirmed that "Colombian bands now more than ever are touring around the world." And the director of Sony Music for Latin America, Alejandro Jiménez, assured that "there is no other country that has the export capacity that Colombia has today."
