I live here as a foreigner/resident. Passport is legitly good. But you need to come and feel the aura minimum of 3 months before deciding if this place is for you. This place is not for everybody but i can assure you salvadorenos are GREAT CITIZENS. That's why im here and left US.
@@pooofykittens I'm originally from Philippines migrated to US. Currently living in El Salvador through my wife. As you can see my adjustment is easy. We also applied for residency in Mexico coz its very easy. I left US one reason is the healthcare over there isn't working for me any longer.

I'm an electro/mechanical technician, engineering technician and an artist. This sounds great. Mexico, El Salvador and Costa Rica are three countries I am very interested in moving to
I’m Syrian and while I was watching the news recently on how El Salvador eradicated crime and want to build a better future for their country, I was like damn, they seem to have a great great leader! I wish we had the same, but now, I’m thinking of moving to El Salvador after your video, I am in the AEC industry and I dream of building better cities
This is a very good video! I am almost 50, an entrepreneur, no kids, yo hablo espanol and starting over in life, so this might be an affordable way for those of us who aren't at six figures (yet) to move abroad. I am more interested in moving away because of curiosity than I am escaping the US. I hope you keep us up to date. I'm interested in this program! Thanks!
@@ronunderwood5771 I'm a right win Liberal Conservative philosopher, who do you think invested all the libertarian ideologies before economists like Adam Smith applied it to economic ideas?
How do you even qualify as philosopher? Aside from being a teacher of philosophy, I don't think there are any employments that qualify as philosophers. Or you're a professor?
With any place new, before you jump in the deep end, it is wise to check it out. This means planning a trip to scout out the locations. Talk with the local people. Get a feel for the place. Figure out if you actually want to be there. Do you have what you want there? Is the status of the infrastructure the way you want it? Do you like the place? Do you feel safe? Does it meet your needs and wants? Do you "feel safe"? Do you feel welcomed? If there any is anything do not like/want, or question something, then perhaps it is not the solution you seek. It may not be a solution for you. This kind of trip probably will take around 2-3 months to really understand. For me, the litmus test for stuff like this is, do I feel comfortable having my elderly mother live with me there? My mother does not live with me now, but that is the barometer or threshold that I set. It is a measure of "comfort"...at least for me.
I stated the same some months ago. Pres. Bukele has chosen a tried & true plan used by the late LKY a generation ago which transformed Singapore from a backwater cesspool w/NO reall natural resources into one of the Four Asian Tigers.
the idea is for these people t be leaders and mentors for the el salvadorian people. don't want to give away all the jobs to foreigners and have nothing left for the locals who are first learning.
@@angelofamillionyears4599 They're not trying to flood the place with foreign owned businesses. Rather slow growth and let the locals remain dominant. Bukele has literally explained all this in speeches. This is something the people want and cheer for. They don't want to just be the servant class to foreigners like locals in Dubai. It's one of Bukeles selling points during the election.
Also, if the 5000 happens and they decide they want more, they can always open up to more later. What they can't do is go the other direction if they feel they allowed too many.
If El Salvador truly wants to become Bitcoin Mecha, they need to bring the cost of citizenship down to a highly competitive price. $100,000 should be enough to keep the riff raff out and get enough people to actually come.
I am currently a resident of Panama but this is worth a look. I heard that the Bitcoin City is nothing to see yet. Anyone know what the progress is because to really think it could be an early Dubai is a stretch

That we philosophers can work to create new political, ethical, economical perspectives, to apply the ideas from people from Sociology, economy, physics (identities, mind-body problem). Create new interpretations for art, marketing, design campaigns... I mean, what we do is analize all kinds of ideas from any area, we create new interpretations, apply existing interpretation to local problems...A basic profession to advance critical thinking, creating local interpretations of global problems and sometimes using international perspectives to avoid just applying foreign ideas that AREN'T logical due to local realities.
6 million people already living in El Salvador, which is about the size of Massachusetts, which is around 8000 sq miles. Sounds packed with people. NOOOOOOOO thank-you. I will look elsewhere if i ever leave USA. I really like living surrounded by nature. lush trees and forests and hopefully close to big body of water, and much less population density. If anyone has suggestion for me please comment. Thanks
😂😂😂 Have you visited ES?? Majority of people are concentrated in the cities. We have an 8 acre farm with 360 degrees views of the mountains and virtually no neighbors. Visit ES first before imagining something is not real You want green....you have never seen so much green in your entire life combined! You want lakes? You want mountains? You want tranquility and solitude? ES has it all I live here for 2 years...I go in the city when I have to The rest is a paradise So....visit first before you do your Western mathon population😂😂
5000 passports = 5 billion? 1million per passport? TF? NAW bro, you can keep your country where it's at. Free don't mean anything when it's that expensive for everyone else! First off, if you really want to get us to come there we want property! Second, tell your president to stop hording yalls money! That 1mil is only going to them and not the people of El Salvador or their economy.
Don't come please, we barely have space and prices skyrocketed thanks to gentrification, we can't afford living with the local salaries, people are tired and Bukele has 90% of the people in poverty.
People forget that El Salvador is literally a very small country and they try to compare it to the US or Europe and forget that the native people who live there will be driven out of their homes becuase of issues like what your describing. I’m very sorry that’s happening by the way.
Nope - you're confusing the two programs. Currently the one million in BTC donation program is for the rich (i.e. the current program), the video is primarily about the new program where 5000 "professionals" (engineers, scientists, doctors, artists, philosophers, etc.) will be able to move there full time to help the country grow in return for free citizenship and zero import taxes on everything they bring with them when moving there.
You are comparing El Salvador with Europe, to be honest, I have been to many places in Europe and I M not impressed with Europe, especially Paris it was very dirty .
El Salvador is going places. Bukele is smart, young and is leading the country from Win to Win whether it be against criminal scumbags or against the WEF. It's a place with a nice warm culture and a great climate (I like hot weather). El Salvador is starting to look like a place where I want to own real estate and live.

I live in Mexico, but maintain connections (business and social) in El Salvador. What Bukele is doing is and will continue to be successful. Just by tackling the runaway crime and jailing all the bad ones, has been just what was needed first. For those who want to relocate there, expect to have a critical examination of your qualifications...do your research first and be thorough and truthful.
The gangs will evolve. When they have no tattoos, there will be no way to weed them out of the population, even with no civil rights. The power vacuum WILL be filled, by gangsters who are smart enough not to tattoo their faces with "I'm a murderer."
@@LarsLarsen77 WELL THE IDEA IS TO BE QUICK AND FAST WITH THE LAST FEW GENERATIONS OF GANGSTERS. THE NEW GEN OF PANDILLEROS HAVENT EVEN BEEN BORN YET. SO WHILE YOU ARE RIGHT, BUKELE HAS PREEMPTED THIS BY WORKING FAST, RECEIVING CRITICISM FROM THE OAS FOR DOING SO. ONE THING YOU MISS, IS THAT GANGS WILL ALWAYS OUTWARDLY EXPRESS THEIR LOYALTY. THERE WILL BE SOME MARKING OR WAY TO PHYSICALLY TELL WHICH GANG THEY ARE FROM.
The gangs were created in Los Angeles during the 1980s and then exported to ES. Bukele is just cleaning house that Mayor Bradley and Chief Gates created.
Bukele is the best answer on the right to the decades of leftism in Latin America, with Milei a decent second. Previous right-wing governments were transparent US puppets, and the public knew as much. That's why people down there like guys like Castro, Lula, and even AMLO recently. Pinochet, Somosa, and maybe Bolsonaro were just too icky. Bukele and Milei address the root of lots of ills in Latin America stemming from US influence, and do it without expanding the government.
Hey Andrew. Great video. I am one of those 50 something Americans who moved to El Salvador. I'm far from a philosopher or an artist, lol. I'm retired law enforcement. I'm only here four months. I have started the process of getting citizenship the normal way, which starts with residency. Not hard, just a little time consuming, but well worth it. My wife is from here originally. She spent 35 years in the US and we both decided to retire here, or let's say semi-retire. We purchased some rental properties and live pretty well here. There are pros and cons to living here. It's definately not for everyone. Here are a few things that are important to me. PROS: Weather I come from the north east where winters are terrible. I wear shorts and a tee shirt everyday here. It is a bit humid but for me managable. I tend to like the heat. Cost of Living The cost of living is about half that of NY where I'm from. Back home a sandwich, coffee and fries in a diner runs me $27. Here in El Salvador, I am paying between $10-$15 for the same meal. Gas is slightly higher at $4.10 per gallon but most things are much more affordable here. Safety Since President Bukele dismantled the gangs and restored order, this country has become extremely safe. Much safer than many parts of the US. They have imprisoned upwards of 75,000 gang members. Homicides and violent crimes have nearly come to a halt. CONS: Traffic I am not referring to high volume. My complaint is aggressive driving. Motorists are extremely rude on roads and highways. No one yields to merging traffic. There are barely no traffic lights so every street, or avenue becomes a highway. Pedestrians are at extreme risk here. It is a hard adjustment. Poverty It is heart breaking and depressing to see how many Salvadorans are forced to live. There are signs of extreme poverty in most of the country with the exception of a few pockets of wealthy neighborhoods. There is not much of a middle class. Most of the country is poor. Prices for Salvadorans are high. I can't help but feel guilty being able to purchase anything I desire when most are struggling to survive. Food The food here is okay but I was pretty spoiled back home in NY. Chinese food here is barely edible. No mediterranean food to be found. A simple thing like a grilled chicken ceasar wrap does not exist here, lol. I am adjusting to the food but it is a little rough. Overall four months in, i'd have to say it was a good decision. El Salvador is the place for me and my wife. Oh, last item, a working knowledge of Spanish is a necessity. Very few people here know enough English to be able to help in most situations. I happen to be fluent. It can be a game changer. Learn some Spanish before coming here. No matter your age or background, it's a great place to start a new.😀
We live here for almost 2 years and love it Retired early and sold everything My husband is from here also I agree with your pros and cons. Some people cannot take it...they actually have to get their butt of the couch and change their programed mentality and that's hard but oh so rewarding to grow as a person and realize how real life looks like!!
I couldn't live there ever, barely can deal with my Mexican fellows, living in USA, was good but things are crumbling fast. No back to Mexico, so was Spain but people is too stubborn, France need language and 5 years living there to get citizenship. Not easy without contacts.
The restaurants will come once demand reaches a tipping point. I agree with your sentiments on poverty for anyone with high empathy it's painful to see the plight, of so many especially children.
Another expat making things more expensive in Latin America. Buying up homes that could belong to El Salvador families. People like you made the USA more expensive now you’re doing the same elsewhere.
Here’s an idea! Just an idea… eat local cuisine or cook at home. 😮 No Chinese population in El Salvador, and El Salvador is not in the Mediterranean. I’ve had pupusa and it’s better than any ‘wrap’. New Yorkers, jeez. 🙄 Glad I’m from Philly… 🤣
It’s interesting to see the President of El Salvador coming to a GOPAC convention to encourage freedom in the United States. Boy how the world 🌎 has changed 😮
The most impressive thing about this policy is they are trying to attract artists, not just scientists and engineers as they must understand the value the arts provides society, unlike other places that are just focused on money.
I am lucky in a sense that i was born in el salvador, I have australian citizenship and have a son who was born in México and because of that I was granted permanent residency in México, so when i retire, I have 3 options to pick from to move to and live on retirement 😊
Having been to El Salvador I enjoyed it, as a visitor it was fun to see a flashback to the past and see some US chains that went out of business in the USA still thrive and operate in El Salvador think Sears or Radio Shack which are owned by the Mexican branches of those parent companies that did not go bankrupt, or in Radio Shacks Case by the Unicomer group based in El Salvador. As always it never hurts to diversify
@@MrzodiacBE kids learn so fast when they’re young. I found a great teacher who comes to their home classroom and they have so much fun speaking, reading , writing in French. Their progress has been incredible. Your kids will do well, plus you’re not putting them in a govt school. They’ll soar!
I’m really tempted to go for this. I have looked for ways to make it work in the US but the corruption running this place has made it an absolute dumpster fire to try and navigate.
One issue I see for professionals in El Salvador is you will make a fraction of income in what you make in other countries. Salaries are much lower in ES.
I hope Guatemala gets a president like Bukele in the future. Central America has a lot of potential but unfortunately corrupt politicians and C.I.A intervention has limited its potential. I live in Canada but the way things are going I’m thinking about moving back to my home country of Guatemala in the near future. Hopefully we can follow in Bukele’s footsteps.
Imagine if the USA invited 5,000 of the worlds best and brightest and taxed them 0% just to make America a greater and more innovative place. Lol, no way, that's not the USA in 2024.
Instead the US has invited over 12 million of the world’s riff raff (Plus criminals and terrorists) to come, get free stuff and to become citizens… Brilliant Plan!
I think you miss a point when you move here. In many cases when relocating you have assets where you STILL have to pay customs. UAE? 5% on the value of cars you move down. Philippines? Insane. Now, we do not talk new here - we may talk about a collector item I bought 5 years ago. This is the same for i.e. a doctor saying "Hey, I want to establish a clinic or move my practice there" - and then he runs into having to pay % of value of items on the move. They abandon THAT. Means you can buy some land, move your stuff down there and start earning (and paying taxes). I think this is a REALLY smart move. I am looking for locations to possibly move from Dubai (there are certain things here I dislike - not political, but I miss mountain roads, and the heat in summer is insane, so I think i.e. to move some of my stuff to south Italy to keep it there in summer) and during that I checked Thailand and Philippines and the idea to move cars THERE is insane - and my cars are partially collectors' items. Not paying 100% luxury tax when I move them. Really like that aspect. If you MOVE to there, you can move your possibly valuable stuff without taxation. NICE. We will show it lasts - but - well... it may be a place to wait out the Singularity and the insane changes we will see in the next years.
Georgia is being bullied by the EU and NATO, their leaders will be removed one way or another if they don’t bow to political pressure. We’re seeing this with Poland.
I just cannot see many US Doctors or UK Chartered Accountants being attracted by this offer . Perhaps a semi retired Electrician or Car Mechanic would be attracted by the retirement with a good second passport would be attractive to them. Just think of the other Latino States you can live in for three months per year as well ! The only great point of El Salvador is the zero Tax on Crypto even though the US has been threatening Nations that openly accept Crypto as a Legal Tender with some type of sanctions if they continue ; especially if this offer is given to American Citizens ! The other attractive points with this Passport would be the Rights to live in other Latino States for three months each year and i hear the weather is very good ( if you like the sun !), and things are much cheaper than the US or western Europe. Not sure how the anti crime efforts are going or, if the quality of life is as good as that in Mexico , Brazil or Panama ? …..anyone done this yet ? Let Andrew’s Channel know so he can hopefully share your insights with his vadt audience !
Many docs in the west have become HIGHLY disillusioned with the direction of health care in wealthier countries. I know several physicians and scientists who might be interested, depending on the residency requirement (due to family and other concerns).
@@8d4o0c4 …..how much can a Doctor of Medicine earn in El Salvador ? I just cannot see my Doctor in the UK , he earns over £120,000 per year wanting to go and live and work in El Salvador …….
Electricians and mechanics wouldn't qualify. Those aren't the professions being wanted. El Salvador only wants very highly skilled professionals as they're trying to build the country to be the next "place to be" and the leader in advanced technology. Honestly - the USA and EU can get stuffed - the more people (and countries) say "whatever" and "mind your own business", the better. The Caribbean CBI programs have some stupid idea that if they keep doing what the USA and EU demand, that they'll be able to keep their CBI programs - the USA and EU won't stop demanding the world until those programs end. Basically the USA and EU don't want their citizens to have any options to go anywhere else as they want to take all their wealth through taxation to try to cover up the financial disaster the govts have caused. The smart people are leaving now. El Salvador is doing well to ignore the USA and EU. BTC is a real currency as a result - now its up to people to demand their countries quit taxing it as crypto and that it gets taxed as currency (i.e. normally).
