Former Manchester City player, Elano, skillfully recreates a historic free kick from 2007 when he faced Newcastle United. During that season, he not only demonstrated his prowess as a goalscorer but also played alongside notable teammates like Didi Hamann, Michael Johnson, Micah Richards, and Joe Hart, all under the management of Sven-Göran Eriksson.

I was sat in the stane behind the goal for this free kick, still to this day the most perfect thing I've seen in person. Everyone was taking about it for the rest of the game. Brilliant little player.

I was there that day,I remember it very well. When Elano hit that ball,it was about half way towards the goal and I knew it was going in. I cheered before anyone else and it seemed he heard and came over to the stand I was in. It was magical.

Elano was remarkable everywhere he went, especially Santos FC, but people forget that in the 2010 World Cup he was THE face of the Brazilian team at a time when Ronaldinho, Adriano and R9 were already leaving their high level. Elano was very important.

Only 2 seasons, but he was so much fun to watch for City. That free kick was something special and still one of my favorite memories. If I'm not mistaken, Emile Mpenza also scored in that game.

"Seeing how big the club is today feels like I've been a small piece of this puzzle." He absolutely was. That Sven season was amazing and completely transformed the club from a team that couldn't score a goal at home for multiple games to a team that played their football on the ground with beautiful flair players like Elano. It's been like that ever since.

Que video maneiro... O Elano fez muita falta ao Brasil na Copa de 2010, estava sendo o melhor jogador, as lesões atrapalharam. Ele foi determinante no City. Honrou o manto sagrado quando jogou no Flamengo, sou fã dentro e fora de campo deste regente.

People should never forget players like SWP, Elano and Tevez. Players who were so far ahead of those around them, that had that X Factor and got fans up off their seats. Elano was SUCH an outstanding player during that first season that I got so excited ahead of every single City game. Just a shame that we couldn't get the best out of him and Robinho for at least 3-4 seasons.
