One of the most underrated bands out there. Phenomenal singer, wonderful musicianship, and all round excellent craftsmen of songs. Seldom Seen Kid is their success story where they started to get noticed, but all their albums are worth seeking out as they are equally as good. My favourites are Leaders Of The Free World and the Take Off and Landing Of Everything.
@@EnosEverything it's not just the US market I am talking about. Yes they may be well liked in Europe, but if the likes of Muse and Radiohead can get global recognition, why not Elbow? imo they are equally as good if not better
Can't see how you rate LEADERS OF THE FREE WORLD above BUILD A ROCKET BOYS - Especially as the latter has the glorious LIPPY KIDS on board... THE SELDOM SEEN KID is their magnum opus - it duly was awarded the Mercury Prize.
@@EnosEverything I agree that Lippy Kids is ace, but the album Rocket is a bit patchy.. Neat Little Rows, High Ideals and Open Arms are bang average tracks and not up to their usual standard. It would have been better as an EP. I feel the same about Little Fictions.
I remember the first time I heard Elbow, living in Salford...Grace Under Pressure is a timeless track, it gave me goosebumps that never went away 🎶 🔥Y.N.W.A🔥
John's interview is masterful. It's truly enjoyable to follow along with his astute questions. Of course, Guy and Elbow are as engaging as expected. All-in-all, a great time this evening. Thank you.
The Spanish Archer (El Bow). I come back to watch this and a live version of Empires, my 2 faves. I totally understand the thrust of the chorus, certain records seems as though they are your very blood, they matter as much as anything can matter, then you get older and realise they were just songs, the artists didn't have any answers, and your deep devotion adds up to nothing in the grand scheme. This song makes it hurt less, while it's playing.
