i am at such a low my friends, i am in a pit of self-hatred and this song just reminds me there will always be those who love me. hundreds of miles away and i still feel their love.

Elbow is just one of the kind. I can't express how this song heals every time I'm down.

i dont usually listen to this type of music but we did this as a listening exercise in my choir class and I ABSOLUTELY FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!!! i love this song sooo much! :)

why shorten it? Lets be honest, if people aren't willing to listen to an extra few seconds before the chorus kicks in, fuck 'em, they aren't the type of people you want listening to your music. This is such a great song, buy the album and hear the full thing, as it's intended to be heard :-)

@JojoMonReturns91 I should say that Elbow has made themselfs to me household names because this song just warms my heart. I also don't hate Pink Floyd, but listening to them is actually pretty sad really. This song to me is like Pink Floyd at Christmas time if Floyd Pinkerson returned to say that he is ok. I just hate snobs like Lady Gaga and Rebecca Black who think they are the saviors of music. This music makes me want to hold hands with friends and family and sing joyful music like this. :)

Great song - the album is nice too. But this video is so bad. Really really bad animation idea, with the weird flying banners and stuff. It's just really poor in my opinion.

Listened to this album when it came out. This song always made me think of my brother, the prodigal son if you like and apart from the rest of us. He died three years later at 50 and I still think of him when I hear it.

I've only actually recently discovered Elbow, but I've heard so many of their songs before. This is crazy.

Our 26 year old boy Josh, has just suffered a brain haemmorage ( not sure how to spell something that vile), and had brain surgery two days ago.He's on the up and recovering well it seems. Family have been stupendous. Mr Garvey...if you're anywhere near Salford Royal in the next few days...ward B7, Im sure he'd be made up with a visit ( 2pm until 8pm...though theres a quiet hour 5-6pm) and you can't leave the door open in case some of the patients abscond :)

What an Amazing song! Very emotional and from the heart. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. this tune is right up there with "One Day Like This" as my fave Elbow tunes. Allan.

Elbow are one of those rare bands that should find a way of only ever producing live albums, because as good as their studio albums are, the music is so much better when performed in concert, everything fulls into place when it's live.

My exposure to this band (tipped from a dear friend in the UK...I live in Alaska) has left me awe-struck everytime I hear them. Grounds For Divorce and Fugitive Motel are among my favorites!

Guy Garvey is a great singer and songwriter. Not since Brown, Gallagher, Morrissey, has someone so talented come from Manchester!

This is how music used to be, not comparing the genre of music to The Smiths, but its the same meaningful lyrics and anthemic tone.

@micalishis She thinks that Autotune and bad music is a good way to save her voice and crappy lyrics in her songs, when in reality it doesn't and she just gets made fun at like when her "Friday" song was made. However her fans seem to tolerate her voice for some odd reason. :/ I know Autotune is suppose to make voices better, but she isn't GLaDOS. Nuff said.
