Elden Ring AFTER The Hype... Was it Worth it?! 

You can press open your menu, press equipment, then explaination, then menu explanation, and that will pause the game. I do a lot of getting up and down as well, so I've made that pausing sequence muscle memory.

Great video! I absolutely adore this game, it is currently my favorite game and probably will be for the next few years. No pause button never bothered me, I've played souls games for the better part of a decade so I'm used to it. I recommend resting at a site of grace and staying there if you have to step away from the game for a snack or something. It's not always a perfect solution, but at least you'll be safe from enemies there.

I've open that first door to Limgrave at least 9 times and I get excited every time. Best game I've ever played and only complaint is that it wasn't longer.

The game is great, but I think it's a bit too big. When you start exploring it feels amazing, but after a certain point it starts to feel repetitive, with some places being to simillar, or feeling a but uninspired. This also helped to make me feel a bit aloof with the main story, since I was often explorong and doing other missions, together with FromSoftware's way of telling the game lore, so while I was doing some side quests like Ranni's, Milicent's, Fia's and Alexander's, I felt much more involved than when I was doing the main quests. I admit this isn't such a big problem, specially for the people that would care much more for the gameplay on a game like this, but still a negative. I definetly agree the game could have some sort of questlog. It doesn't need to be a questmark on the map, saying where you have to go, but just something that can help you keep track of the missions that you started and/or already completed. I also think that you should be able to get an unlimited amount of the itens to respec and upgrade weapons and spirits to the maximum, even if you'd need to farm a lot. The game has a big variety of itens, skills and builds you can make, so why not let you try as many as you want on the same run? Pause button didn't bothered me too much, but I understand your point. Overall, the game it's great and definetly worth it, but it could get some improvements to make the experience better.

Not a single fromsoft souls game has a pause menu. On PC i think there are mods that add them in but if you come from playing the original demons souls on ps3 you’re already used to not having a pause menu proper. You’ll take a few seconds to get to an area you know is safe enough to walk away from your screen or you can just turn the game off once you’ve come to a calm area and the games auto save feature will keep up allowing you to return to your current location without problems. I’ve force closed my dark souls 3 game on PC frequently because it’s faster to do it that way and when I reload I’m still where I was normally if not really close to where I left off with little time lost.

hey if you want to pause @ceej bring up the equipment menu (i am on PSN so transfer to other controls according) Press options while in the equipment menu it should bring up a a few options Select "menu Instructions" I think it was. it was the last bottom option for me but so long as you are not co-op or Invaded it will pause the game i hope this helps.

Easily, beat it 100% to completion, I'm talking every boss, mini-boss, collectable, and quest. Thought I burned myself out on it, still came back and did another playthrough.

i just played it last week to completion for the first time and its super cool, i mainly like it because of the amazing world theyve build and the insane amount of attention to detail. the lore is definitely my favorite part

I still absolutely love elden ring but I can't play it anymore, I've gone everywhere and I've done everything. After I beat the game with the star fists I was truly done and I cant finish another playthrough. I need more but there's nothing left to try or discover.

Make a Ragnarok video? That game was so disappointing. Been a GOW fan since the first one on ps2. 2018 was a half finished game but was acceptable. A strong 6 out of 10 if you are being honest and not blinded by shiny graphics and formulaic writing meant to manipulate you. Ragnarok had an offbeat but sort of acceptable start and then was rushed and inconsistently written garbage for the entire rest of the game. They even made exploration and puzzle solving a chore due to the marvel phase 4 writing, wasted plotlines, npcs that give you the answers and dont let the player think, reptitive boss arenas, randomly broken parrying, Atreus sections, shit like Bigir where we're being led to care but it was never earned but instead forced by rushing and I could go on. The Ragnarok and fights it built up to were half assed and completely subverted for no reason other than weak writing and being rushed and formulaic to make money. Literally 90% of what 2018 set up was completely redundant and subverted for no reason in Ragnarok. Way too many blindly accept this product just like Halo infinite, modern assassins creed, call of duty, rings of power, etc.

ER did NOT come close to my expectations. It was a disappointing & I have not played it for months. The ARMOR sucks, music sucks, pvp sucks, not enough npcs, way too many reskinned bosses, & the same enemies are found throughout the game…it’s taking a decade to make a mediocre videogame where U have to pay more money for an expansion of a game that was made half assed & 80% completion.

This Game will never be a Bloodborne and Bloodborne is still playing since 2015 !!! Elden Ring dosen't have any of the Feeling you get when starting playing Bloodborne !!! I know alot of my friends would say the same thing and they've played Elden Ring that Elden Ring is not on the Level of Bloodborne and will never be !!! No Elden Ring is not worth my time !!! I got this game in december. Got up to Tree Sentinal. Thought Jeeze this game is not for me. Moved on to Margit... Of which made me ask myself why did I buy this game. I began regretting my purchase. Bur I kept at it. Unwilling to give up and I am now on my 8th playthrough. One of my favourite games in a long time.

It's beautiful and vast. I've played the early areas a lot. I have not gotten past the giant mounted knight beyond the cratered battlefield, but it's because I haven't learned his pattern or leveled up enough.

Easily worth it, it’s rare in that way. Before it only botw had the same appeal. In all my years of playing games I’ve heard all kinds of hype about games that didn’t live up to it and in that time there have only ever been 2 games that were exactly everything (positive) people said about them: Elden Ring and Breath of the Wild. Those two have an air of mystique that is very hard to match and it’s not something that you can just go out and capture. They’re both that good. Edit: wait, “absence of map”? Whatchu’ talkin’ ‘bout? I’d love a real pause, but there is a roundabout way to do it, open menu>equipment>press touch pad for help> menu explanation. It’ll pause it, but I do like a dedicated pause button in every game. It’s as important as the ability to jump to me.

The last couple points turned me off. I was sold on this game until you said there’s no quest markers and no pause. That’s weak lol

This game is a 6/10 for me. And I say that as someone who's pretty good. The plot delivery and pacing stinks. The world is too large and empty. Some of the bosses are cool and the sound design is ok. Combat is clunky, but it depends on the build. I don't think having difficulty settings would wreck the game. I refuse to feed into the whole fanboy thing about that. But man oh man does this game need a dang quest log. It takes way to long to get stuff done.

Elden ring took aspects of skyrim from 2011 and expanded on it for elden ring , I like it and I'm currently tying up loose ends to play another playthrough, and there is a way to pause , it's online on how to do it

the game is absolutely incredible. my only real issue is how some enemies/bosses feel a bit unbalanced or overly punishing but thats a nitpick compared to the sheer scope of this game. it and BG3 are fighting for first place lol

Honestly i thought the game was meh

If you want an unbias, honest opinion, I will tell you. As someone who has never played an rpg/souls game and didnt think i would have the patience/would get bored, compared to other genres like fps which give you constant engagement. What i will say is this game is incredibly impressive. It is incredibily difficult at the beggining which made me think i will quit it since its pointless for me to play a game which just frustrates me. However put 10hours into the game and you will understand that this game is huge. You cannot quickly progress in this game therefore when you continue to have small sucesses such as leveling up your stats or finding a new weapon/location, you feel that your hard work payed off. This game is very difficult, takes long to progress but is very satisifying and will make you lose track of time, with the beautiful environments and immersion. The boss fights are incredibly difficult but the animations and fights are so cool, the game feels cinematic, visually and audiblly. You have to watch youtube tutorials for everything. I mean that literally. But the more you understand as the game is complex, the more you appreciate it compared to most games which baby sit you. This is a game which you should only buy if for example you would like a challenge but to also play an amazing game. The scope of this game is amazing. There is so much to do, you begin to understand and appreciate how much effort the developers put into the game. As someone who started gaming by mostly playing fps games, i am now a fan of souls/rpg games thanks to e Elden Ring. My best advice is to watch gameplays/walkthroughs and dont listen to bias content. Make your own decisions and definately give the game a chance if you are open minded.

I don't have any problem with the pause since I'm taking my time with the game, if I have to go and do something else I'll just clear the area or go to a safe location and use the rest emote in a corner to make sure I'm 100% safe

Gamers when a game is over week old. It's still an incredibly good game and will stay as such, age is not a factor of goodness. Half-Life is 25 years old and it's still amazing. Also, FromSoft will not add a pause feature in this game or any of its sequals, spiritual or direct. Ever since Demon's Souls, there has been no pause function. A simple solution to that is going to the main menu. That's just one feature of being a Souls-game.

Good video! I disagree with your comment on the lack of a pause-button tho. I don't know if you have played any other Soulsborne-games, but part of the appeal is that you are never really safe. You should be able to react to enemy attacks whenever they happen, just like in the other games.

The game is absurdly boring. The graphics looks the same everywhere. Grass and rocks and bricks. Lots of repetitive enemies, graphics, and dying while trying. If this is fun I must turn into a nun. But let me not judge. Let me play it first. Lol.

This game took me by suprise. I think i stopped at level 800 something and that took 5ever. Farming upon farming upon farming. While at the same time doing loads of new game + trying to make Malaenia, blade of Miquella (i buthered both names) easy as hell with my level being absurdly high

It's a solid game but not as thrilling to me as Dark Souls 3 or 1 Or even 2 . I've been playing Elden Ring the last two days because I got it for free. It's nice but the worlds are fairly empty compared to DS3. The graphics are detailed and the create a character customization is breathtakingly realistic. However, the enemies are not as fun or mesmerizing as DS3. And the NPCs are dull so far, though I enjoy the maiden's dialogue. I'm still playing Elden Ring but I gotta be honest, I had much more fun with DS3 and DS1. Even Demon Souls may be better. I hope my mind changes, but I wouldn't pay 60 bucks for Elden Ring. 8/10 game if you love challenging games, but the NPCs are so boring.

This is my first souls game, and it quickly became the best game I have ever played. The “no pause” button is actually a nice touch in my opinion. It makes the game feel like it’s life in another dimension, and life doesn’t pause.

Every reviewer (or what they like to call themselves) who gives Elden Ring a 10/10 (or 5/5) has never played many games. 🙄 (Or give most games a 10/10) Playing it for about three months. This game has many "issues". Because of many reasons it is the worst game I have ever played. The graphics look good and the open world is HUGE, but that's about it. No, I do not recommend this game.
