It’s a reference in Elden ring to a Dark souls reference In bloodborne thats a demon souls Easter egg reminiscent of the time sekiro Played armored core… But in a way that’s reminiscent of Kingsfield.
@@captanki5961 oh man you're right! I also figured they kind of look like all the people who got turned to statues in Yahar'gul after the blood moon lol
In Altus Pletau there is a "Castle of Shadow" or "Shadow Castle" something like that, inside there are many randomly placed statues of people just like in the Cainhurst Castle, and fast humanoid enemies that use short swords and crossbows and instead of Rolling they Dash, just like bloodborne hunters

There are many references that come from Bloodborne in Elden Ring Hell, a merchant even plays a part of Gehrman's theme! And you can clearly understand that... 1. The Rivers of Blood is clearly the Chikage 2.0 2. Caelid seems like it's coming from Bloodborne 3. There is what I like to call the Bloodborne Ending, and that is the Age of The Stars (Ranni's) Ending 4. Also Siofra and Ainsel Rivers seem like they're coming from Bloodborne, probably even more than Caelid 5. There's an Armor that's basically a reference to Eileen's armor FromSoft will probably never forget Bloodborne. Hell, that game is the reason why Dark Souls 3 is so much more fast-paced than the other 2, and is the reason why Elden Ring is soo fast paced too, and probably Sekiro too Don't forget that Bloodborne even added charged R2 attacks, and the use of L2 as a special button (in Bloodborne's case, for guns and special movesets when two-handing weapons) And if the leaks are true, if Spellbound is real, then I think that it'll be compared a lot to Bloodborne in terms of pacing I think FromSoft is slowly understanding that the players want extremely cool and fast-paced battles And so it is. (I do miss trick weapons tho... I loved what they chose to do in DS3 with some weapons, like the Farron Greatsword and the Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords. I think they took inspiration from both Bloodborne and DS2 regarding those...)
@@user-bl5dp7xs1t It's the exact same engine but with light improvements in Elden Ring, but tbh the graphics are barely better compared to Bloodborne. They have been using the same engine for years, it's outdated but still works for them I suppose.
If not specifically the Messengers it’s definitely something from Berserk and since every FromSoft game (that I know of) is 80-90% Berserk references, by the transitive property it’s a Bloodborne reference.
