What Asmongold really means when he says the game isn’t fun is that he can’t spam his strength build dual wield heavy jump attack he cheesed the entire base game with. It’s laughable when he said he couldn’t learn Messmers moves. He never tried to learn ANY boss patterns🤣
He actually got offended and upset people were shamming him about it by the way. Even saying he would play games less often, he was getting stressed, ect. It’s really odd coming from him of all people.
Wtf is Asmigold's setup? All 14 flasks are health, puts his spectral steed whistle in his hotbar in a location he can't even summon him, doesn't use his physik at all, power-stancing two slow weapons on a boss he obviously can't keep up with, obviously hasn't increased his blessing otherwise he wouldn't be getting one-shot'd, doesn't take advantage of summons... This dude's entire career is playing games and he can't be fucked to use more than two brain cells, absolute joke.
He claims hes good at these games but he’s actually horrible. Refuses to adapt and refuses to use the tools given to him or actually think in a fight instead of trying to boink like an idiot.
@@jei3970He thinks that using busted or cheesy builds = good at the game. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with people using them, and if he wants to be overpowered and just win, more power to him, but he should just accept and admit that he isn't that good. I also don't understand how he can consider summons overpowered and cheesy, and therefore unfair, but then, when his jump heavy build doesn't work, he switches to fingerprint shield...
DSP "How am i going to beat this boss that kills me with two hits" Explore the world and get the scadutree fragments instead of running into the boss with no upgrades. brainless fools.
@@sambrero3 I mean, this is true. I fought that kindred thing in front of gurranq's temple at level 32.Any attack is one shot kill. Got that 80k runes, because i refused to leave before i beat it. But I feel Messmer is too fast to and far too many ways to get hit. A few upgrades wouldnt hurt
@@sambrero3so now it’s play perfect challenge runs git gud scrub LMAO…..Great game! Fromsoft are geniuses….as much as I love dark souls watching this downfall is gonna be glorious with this trash they just put out..Bayle saved the entire thing everything else mid at BEST. They clearly don’t know what they’re doing with the combat, artificial difficulty isn’t fun. Remember the meme of strafing around poking the mobs in the legs to win? Congratulations, that’s exactly what you have now. Boring cornered gameplay or play perfect and poke while you watch anime attacks done to you….LAME
Ironic how asmongold says your a loser for using summons and mimic tear or your a shit player if you use bleed builds but instead he cheesed the entire main and now dlc.
@@planetzdr the dlc is fair it teaches you that your old broken build is trash and that it isn't gonna carry you anymore so the dlc is trying to see who actually has skill instead of cheesing every fight
@@Dr_SSIK none of their games have limited your build. You could always win with whatever weapon you wanted in past games effectively. This DLC limiting what you can use is a bad change. You tourists just can’t admit when Miyazaki messed up.
@@planetzdr you can beat the dlc with any weapon it'll just take you a little more time and you guys just can't accept a fair challenge that's all about skill
@@natharoonytoony6632 I don’t have a problem with that. I have a problem that he criticize people who use spirit ashes and game journalists when he plays just like one.
It's not fun. It becomes tooooo easy. That's just boring. Not everyone loves using magic attack. The bosses are moving at a light speed with infinite stamina while the player character moves at the speed of a snail
@@Uwusory yes they can. It's maidenless behavior. Joke I mean, it's less satisfying. The fun of these games for me is learning the bosses and truly beating them on your own. Unless they're ganky bullsheet. It's whatever but I recommend always beating these bosses alone
@@raidenstark4964 I agree that the hyper spammy chasey bosses are shit. Renalla fight was great I enjoyed that. felt like Artorious. but the dancing lion dragon thing and the hippo, nah that was fuckin annoying in every sense, not a challenge.
Some folks have to learn, those Scadu fragments are not "training wheels" or "optional." FS said they were adding an extra leveling system for the DLC. This is that. Go explore the damn map they built for you, stop slamming your head into a fog wall and crying when everything 2 shots you. In shortened terms, Git Gud (at exploration.)
It’s amazing that these streamers go into these fights without using any buffs or anything like if you’re gonna die to Mesmer that many times you’d think to use flame protect me…
I used to do the same thing, but when I got to Rellana, I realized that I needed to be more durable. Huge boost for a small investment makes me feel like an idiot for never doing it before.
The stigma against using ashes or summons is so silly, I get so excited when my ash or a jolly cooperator does something badass. These games have some of their best moments when you’re with a friend.
Yeah I've beaten all other souls games solo, I just have fun with the summons in elden ring. If you're gonna give me a tool I'm gonna use it. I also know my limit and at the end of the day just want to enjoy beating a game, challenge runs aren't my thing lol
Mimic tear is the lamest way to beat a boss. It takes away the feeling of accomplishment you get when beating a boss one on one that the souls games are known for.
@@planetzdrmillions of people thoroughly disagree with you. Some people would never beat certain bosses without that mechanic and they feel they’ve accomplished something beating a boss while using a summon. Your experience isn’t the only possible option, people are different - crazy concept, I know.
@@PeopleRTellingme cool I think it’s the lamest way to beat a boss personally. You guys can win the easy way and somehow get enjoyment out of that. You do you. Just know that you aren’t true souls fans.
I think I'll get to him this weekend. My faith is in luck. So far, I've beaten the Lion and Rellana on my first attempts. It sounds impressive, but I have 0 merit in any of that. The mimic tear did all the work.
There is. a reoccurring theme between all of these clips. These streamers keep getting 2-3 shotted by even the smallest little dinky moves. They do not go find the Scadutree fragments to upgrade there character, and then act suprised when the bosses are chunking half their healthbars with basic attacks
I’m kinda glad the bosses trivialized asmons jump spam playstyle and op builds so people who have to learn and adapt! That’s what I like, having to adapt and get better rather than rely on spamming
@@austin0_bandit05 I'm trash at games u just gotta switch up your builds and use more items that are given to u that ur probably not using, like golden vow, damage negation talismans, boiled crabs etc.
People just seem to forget the scadutree fragments and they go in the dlc expecting to use the same build they ran through the main game with they give you new weapons and ashes and summons in the dlc why don’t people try to use something different have fun exploring respec do something beside trying the same old builds and complain
So asmon won't use summons because they're for bad players but then he resorts to using the most brain dead build because that's somehow better? 😂😂 Dudes a joke.
That would have been a really good idea on doing so, now that you mentioned it. Just to show them that they have entered the uncertainty of the dlc in difficulty wise.
" those who are stripped of the grace" Slash " those who are stripped of the grace" Slash " those who are stripped of the grace" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 homeboy was getting that ass beat
Spirit summons and ranged magic, this first guy goes down. You don't even need the new summons and other stuff in the DLC. They're nice, but you don't need them. You can beat this guy with summons and magic from the base game. But NO, the f'n "purists" insist on 80 attempts of melee rage, high blood pressure and DLC hate. Sounds like a purist problem to me.
Alot of people won't use magic either because they think Comment Azur is a cheese strat. When they literally nerfed that spell in the day 1 patch of the DLC
@@DarksideGmss0513 I've been hugely successful in the DLC with the ordinary Comet spell, never mind the Comet Azur. And even the "lowly" Rock Sling spell! The Rock Sling still disrupts and staggers almost every elite enemy. That spell can be found within the first three hours of base gameplay. And the Death's Rancor spell is still absolutely devastating, an old, old spell found in Liurnia. Just have to know how to use them in different situations.
Would you say rock sling is a good alternative for posture breaking for mages? Bc I beat the game with strength build and wanna go back with a mage build but I found myself lost without bonks and finger print shield. Like how do mages defend themselves from messmers attacks without a huge ass shield? Besides spam dodge
@@stevemichael652 you can still use a shield with magic, nothing in the game says you can't. dodging and blocking also aren't the only way to avoid damage, you can jump a lot of attacks and just position better. You can also use carrian slicer for faster attacks
Thats the way of playing that those players have fun with. They dont like to use magic or summons because those tools dont force you to learn the boss mechanics. In other words melee players want to learn the boss moveset and overcome the challange that way. The problem is that the boss mechanics are extremely hard to unravel and learn. Elden ring has always had an issue with teaching players about posture break and whatnot. The same can be said for malenia, id argue that its an issue when most players who want to learn a boss and overcome it are pummeled into the floor so hard that theyd rather disengage with the mechanics altogether in favour of summons or respec. If a boss feel unbeatable and players en mass cant figure out how to overcome that feeling then the game has gone wrong somewhere along the line in terms of teaching. In previous titles, the linear design of environments, enemies, and bosses served to preform this role, but due to elden rings open world design, it becomes a far reaching problem.
What’s worse than asmon crying about the bosses being too hard is him thinking he’s good after he beats the boss with the fingerprint shield that is the lowest skill build of the entire game you have to learn nothing from the boss
this is like several days too old lmao. Asmongold already adapted, changed builds and weapons, defeated all the bosses, and changed his initial mind of the game, and gave it 10/10. Then proceeded to start a new character intended just for summons and whatever overpowered spells and incantations only.
The dlc really is seperating the wheat from the chaff.. all the gamers that flocked to elden ring because it was so much more "accessible" than previous titles...they really feeling it now 😂
I love that this game got me into souls and this dlc is some of the most fun I've had in a while, reminds me of the experiences I had as a kid with the old Ninja Gaiden games from the 2000's in terms of "hard games", these tourists need to play other games or just get over it.
i get people don't like to use summons, because they feel like it takes the fun out of the game, but so does dying 50 times after 3 hrs of attempting to be a solo master, bruh these enemies are twice as fast and double the damage, ill solo them in NG+, 1st playthrough im the summon king
The Asmongold one has to be the one of the funniest self-inflicted moments of BS I've seen, like he's so stubborn it's almost cringe. He refused to adapt, try new things, and it took the game bitching him to try something new and not his thousands of viewers. Dude is the literal definition of insanity
Admittedly I beat my head on the brick wall of Messmer until he went down but that's my personal issue. Then when I got to the final boss at scad level 12 I was like "You know what maybe I need more scad fragments"
Those stripped of the grace...Those stripped of the grace...Those stripped of the grace...Those stripped of the grace...Those stripped of the grace...Those stripped of the grace...Those stripped of the grace.
When you realize you’re better than these streamers because you’re too stubborn to quit and end up memorizing the moves until you flawless or nearly flawless…😂
To Asmongold's credit he beat the game in his own way which is what these games allow for which is, use what you want to win at all cost. If people want to play like a challenge runner and aren't, are just guaranteeing themselves a bad time if they don't enjoy the process of learning the ins and outs of the movesets.
These guys are beating themselves! Not using summons, not learning the boss moves, not getting scadu tree blessings and revered spirit ashes. Oh, and sticking with their shitty one shot builds, is a joke.
Me just guard countering my way through this DLC because I'm not rolling unless I have to. I'm not adapting. Everything will die to guard counters and charged R2's because my will and spite is greater
My only complaint is boss hp. Though I kind of forced it upon myself because looking up the health pool for bosses in ng6, we’re looking at 60-75k hp boss fights. But the silver lining to this is I really have to learn boss patterns, opportune times to summon mimic buddy, and what said boss may be weak to. I’d honestly say other than ds3 ringed city; this is the best fromsoft dlc we’ve ever gotten.
I'll be honest, raging to Rellana and Dancing Lion I can kinda understand. Messmer though? Not even getting to his 2nd phase? Nah bruh. Messmer has very telegraphed combos in his 1st phase, with the 1 outlier of the delayed spin into delayed "ground dragging" stab. Messmer also basically teaches you that rolling away from him is a no-no with his fire tendril things, which you should honestly learn quite early on. His crazy combo with the multiple hitting fire stabs is solved by holding forward (toward him) and rolling at a half decent time, the subsequent 2 attacks are just timed rolls like a normal attack. Also also, Messmer has pretty big recovery after each of his combo enders for fat damage.
I agree. I was raging pretty hard at Dancing Lion and Rellana (even though now I look back on them and think they were great fights) but Messmer felt very fair and doable pretty much the whole time I fought him, and I never got all that frustrated.
Messmers' move set is not hard to learn . I had it down after 5 attempts . Maybe wear some heavier armor and boost your fire protection so you can actually take a hit without dying . The golden hippopotamus hits harder than messmer .
Weird, I found Messmer quite easy, RL141, I used defensive talismans and blocked his non fire attacks, the snake attacks are 100% physical so it was actually easier imo when he goes into his 2nd phase
I think i can pat myself on the back after watching this and seeing a few streamers go to that broken ass shield/trident build.. im glad i stuck it out with my colossal sword and beat every boss in this dlc with it
I two tried him with double collasal hammers😂. You need to time your jumps dude one BIG opening is when he does the combo and finishes eith spears poking out from ground. I charge attack with bloodfiend blood arm bleed infused and it's instant bleed no matter what it's insane
Agreed. Camera and performance are the two factors where criticism is completely justified. I just remove the lock on when the divine beast does moves that makes the camera go straight into my characters ass.
@@excalibur2596 what I really hate is the boss is supposed to be cinematic you can tell, but it's just so hard sometimes. Like when I saw them switch to a different element the first time, I was shocked! It was beautiful and I felt so many lore implications when it transformed AGAIN. But when it's in your face and you can't really tell what's going on, it gets annoying having to remember to lock on and off
I don’t even know why but so far messmer has gotten under my skin more than any other boss so far. I am happy to say that I finally stomped his ass. With the help of my mimic however. The snakes kept killing me in the 2nd phase. Sometimes he would only have a tiny smidge of health left. The other boss I hated was commander gaius. I will say that seeing other people rage quit makes me feel better that I have not quit.
Instead of saying a boss isn't fun, I just leave the area because I assume I'm not ready yet lol. Then I end up coming back later and beating it. Rellanna with the twin swords had me legitimately pissed off for an entire day.
Yeah used to stay away from souls like or hard games now after armored 6 I like trying to go for no damage runs. It grows on you and yeah the first boss in the dlc was hard but the more you fight the easier it becomes.
Messmer was a nightmare. With my bleed sword and mimic I could burst him to second phase, the problem then was staying alive to do the damage. Him and Commander Gauis were the roadblocks I had trouble with. Metyr and cormina were surprisingly easy. Bayle was the best hands down. Also why are all these streamers seem adverse to using a great shield? You need to learn a bosses move pattern, hide behind a great shield and watch what they do, it's how I did it, granted I run a great shield, but that's the easiest and safest way to learn a bosses move-set. Only now I find out I still need to beat Midra and the Scadutree avatar. Also was DSP usimg the Radagon icon? That shortens casting times and is a must for spell casters. Also both graven school amulets should help. Magic scorpion charm as well but that's more of a glass cannon like approach.
What the hell why is Asmond using the same shit he beat the main game with…. Dude I hard swap in the DLC all day using all weapons!!! Best game ever!!!
Ok sweety, now it is time to drop the 100% damage negation shield, 80 vigor, mimic tear, defensive talismans, mightiest armor, strength jump attack cheese build and go beat him with fashion souls, a dex build katana with max 45 vigor. Perhaps we will see you again here in a couple of years
I'm gonna be honest, Messimer was such a hard boss for me, I felt actually bad that I couldnt learn him. I would get slightly clipped by things I thought I could avoid.. and it really felt awful, Messimer was the only boss i've felt so far in all of the souls games I played that I couldnt beat or learn, I swapped builds until I ran out of larvel tears, I used w/e weapons I could and nothing worked for me. Mez was so hard (IMO) that Renella felt easy, after I went to help my friend fight her (everyone he asked for help died very early). Mez was so hard that after I beat him... the game became extremely easy, nothing else felt as hard as him, not even the end boss. I'm glad I was able to beat him, but I dont think i'll ng+ like I did with other souls dlc, at least if I have to fight him again. The rest of the dlc was really good though. I'd recommend it to most people who plays souls.
