If I could give some advice, the way to get really good like this is to position yourself in such a way you can swing and have 100% chance of getting the swing off. Also if you roll around too much the bosses moveset gets way too complex to understand what’s going on. Cheers 🍻
it takes practice and timing the dodge on attack patterns, theres a tell tale which attack pattern it will do and NO ONE is that good in 1st try everybody get slapped around as you put it , then after hours of practice youtubers(some even pay someone good and pretend theyre the ones who played it) but to those who are just starting they will record their fight and have a savegame back up and once theyve done a fight with no mistake, theyll use that recording for posting.
First time I walk into a bossfight I don't even go in with the intention of winning. I just dodge and dodge and dodge to get a feel for their attacks. At the end of the day all it comes down to is figuring out their moveset and how you can work with it, no matter what build you have.
his majestic combat style actually lives up to the title of "Elden Lord" meanwhile i am rolling around in the mud fighting for my effing life and getting roll catched obliterated ragdolled and whatnot
@@santiagomoralesgarcia1802 Jumping turn half your hitbox invulnerable until landing so stabbing from a low stance with not so high hitbox can be jumped like this. However you still need to practice the timing and whether the boss can aim higher, or if they have a follow up that wait for you as soon as you land. Unfortunately, It is low reward for most weapon classes though.
Seriously. I beat this boss last night. I had phase 1 down for the most part. Phase 2, I have no idea how tf to dodge half of that, but I blacked out during the snake barrage and my next r2 killed him. This is serious peak gameplay. It’s amazing how people like this pull this stuff off. I was in awe of the weapon swapping smoothness alone.
Most people do no dmg or rl1 boss fight just to show they did it, and they do it in the most boring way possible usually, but this is what it’s about, great display of your skill :D
@@tempsikandersuckskilla4112 agreed, it feels like most people are on one of the two extremes: "look how good I am at cheesing" or "It's so hard I'm gunna sue".
@@octavianpopescu4776it’s elden ring, unless your computer was build in the last couple years you’re better off just running it on console. my pc is brand new tho
@@crunchysalmons My PC is about 3 years old. I have an RTX 2080 Super on it. I had frames in some places (thankfully empty places, like Mohg's arena when you enter the DLC and a certain site of grace in Shado Keep), but other than that it ran well enough.
It has a follow-up R1 that transitions into the rest of the light attack combo. For some reason, it only works if you're locked-on an enemy. Otherwise, you'll do a crouch/dodge R1, but still transition to the second attack in the light attack string
The way the boss was attacking - seems he had developed fatigue getting manhandled like that. Cause my boss is constantly on my ass with no fcking space wth
Amazing show of skill! I'm now on my 3rd DLC playthrough and going for a MiLady-only run too, i been stuck at Messmer for a day now. - 0:26 What i don't get it, i do this response attack too and it always hits me mid-air - 0:44 same with this, i been practicing and understand his pokes and when i think i can pull off the Wing Stance R2, it always connects on me, he hits me mid-air with that poke and you do it consistently in the video. weird.
In addition to timing, maybe it’s because of the rolling position? FS has made hitbox protrusions on Messmer’s chest. When I rolled forward to the right or forward during my early testing, it was easy for the character to be directly squeezed down by the chest. The scene was very weird, so I always rolled to the left.
@@umiyuri04 okay yeah i noticed after testing the entire day, everytime he started scraping his Spear over the floor i had to get into Wing Stance and walk backwards abit to make sure he doesn't like Circle around me and hit me Mid-Air.
No, but my settings are all the lowest, except that the texture is medium and anti-aliasing is turned on low. Perhaps because of this, the special effects are not obvious and it looks cleaner.
I think that you may have gotten a little lucky (I'm talking 99.5% skill, 0.5% luck), the reason being he didn't use the Fire Serpent spell and followed it up with the lunging thrust attack. While I'm NOWHERE near as good as you are, it feels like the lunging thrust will always roll-catch you for dodging the fireball with a mid-roll. It's one of the only ways in this entire fight that I feel like you can't avoid taking damage if he uses that combo. That, the grab hitbox (the *ONLY* thing about this fight i feel needs to be slightly nerfed), and what feels like a lingering hitbox on the attack seen at 0:43-0:45 on top of it's absurd trcking are the things that hold this otherwise excellent boss fight out of S-Tier. Yes I i know how to dodge the grab, but it doesn't change the fact that the hitbox on it is a bit too big and can result in DS2 moments. He's either my pick for best or second best boss in the game with Rykard being the only real competition (fitting that they're both snake related). He feels like a Dark Souls 3 boss, and that's a VERY good thing. Godfrey/Horeah Loux, Mohg, Radagon and Maliketh are fights that have things that hold them back severely. None of them crack C-Tier for me. All of those fights just feel like slogs with severe RNG issues swinging fights very wildly (Radagon in particular is just horrible in this regard), or are responsible for some incredibly cheap bullshit that pissed me off. example: Radagon spamming his double-teleport three times in under 20 seconds, two of which were up close btw. Godfrey/Horrah Loux on the other hand feels like it was designed to make me dislike it with the overuse of AoEs and grabs, things that I don't like in boss fights *on a fundamental level*. Phase 1 is great, but starting at phase 1.5 the fight falls apart for me. Maybe my opinions on those fights will change now, but Miquella using Mohg's body the way that he does feels very deserved imo for the of the most unfair deaths I've had being caused by him.
Please I must see you fighting vs Radahn, from you I saw that you can play in a different way than just turning and R1 which in the end bored me a little, you are a crack
This is the type of gameplay I like to see. Stylish souls, just beautiful gameplay. Not some dumbass with an OP bonk build with fatty armour 2 shooting the boss.
How did the saying go? “No matter how good you think you are, there’s always an Asian does it better than you”? 😂 holly cow this is impressive, the weapon swaps? *chief kiss* Ongbal’s gotten competition coming
This is the way I've played games for decades. I know you died way more than you've beaten this boss. I'm betting it is like 70% deaths, if not more. What is even more ridiculous is that you most likely couldn't do it again on the first attempt when considering your hp. It's nice to see someone else enjoy the game. It really does become an art. Most ppl just blow through it and move on to the next. You have a lot of patience and discipline.
