I love that there are some katanas in the game without bleed and I quite enjoy the buff this and the Dragon Halberd get. Really hope they add some more weapons with the frost lightning in the DLC.
since we already have a good dragon boss is base game, I hope the dragon of dlc is an apex dragonkin soldier, one with a near perfected form. Obviously artificial dragons in Souls games never go well, but considering ER has a somewhat brighter tone, I hope we can fight one and get new ice lightning incant/weapon
@@gluelake hopes are high dragon kin seem super cool and love all the stuff associated with them. Dragon halberd was my first playthrough weapon. One hope of we do get one with more dragon kin is we see what they were created to fight maybe A more evolved astel as well.
weird comment, but that little spin at the beginning of your videos with your intro always makes me feel good. kinda like coming back to something familiar or an old friend. Keep it up man, proud of you 👍🏼
It's an old dark souls controller player thing, from back when we emoted with stuff that isn't tbagging. I was partial to the shield wiggle/claymore wobble from ds1 and 3, personally.
@@aeriagloris4211in DS2 if i remember you would hold it in something sort of like a "Whole Iron Door" guard if youre using Fiore terms it just looked way cooler and more practical.
Love the showcase Chase, glad this katana got a buff (even if, let's be honest, it's not much.) You should check out the coded sword, it got a buff as well that makes it a bit more fun to use now (wa comes out alot quicker now, so you can actually use it in combos with alot higher chance of roll catching)
I used this sword in the network test back when it was dex/faith and loved it but I haven't tried it since the game released. Might have to actually try this on a dedicated dex build in the future
Damn, it used to scale with faith? I would adore this thing if it still did. It may even be an alright weapon if it did. As it stands, it's a tad substandard as a katana.
I love the way these videos are presented, you don't do any of the shit other DS youtubers do to waste time and the lack of pretension is a refreshing change
When i duel with this i wear the iron kasa and the scaled armor, and i offhand a blood wakazashi as a tribute to okina. and i got incant catalyst in mainhand slot 2 and jellyfish shield in offhand slot 2 so i can do some dragon incants. the ash of war actually catches people off guard a ton since it basically has 3 hits. i run both branchsword talismans also and when those proc i activate dragonbolt blessing so enemies attacks bounce off. it basically turns me into a 2 phase fight because both branch talis activated plus light weapon attacks bouncing off is great because it gives you 2 to hardness value
This weapon and the Noble's Estoc are the two weapons that I desperately desperately wished were so much better than they are. At least it got some love with 1.07.
Sadly, I don't like the shortness of this katana. I'm too used to Nagikiba. Plus with the new bloodflame/Storm caller buffs, it's a lot easier to land while having high poise in my experience.
This makes me want to play Elden Ring again. The Dragonscale Blade was my favorite katana. I used it quite a lot, particularly on dragons. It wasn't terribly effective though compared to other katanas.
chase how often do you come across unfun meta/tryhard adversaries during duels because i have a hard time believing you only find these cool opponents with fun builds and a perfect connection, in other words how are the duels that we are not seeing
lucian best arena fighter, very good use of spells and nice spacing. hadn't seen such an opponent to chase in a while, keep it up it was pleasant to watch
I think it’d be nice to look at the banished knights greatsword again, just because of the overall 2H poise buff, and maybe use it to try out some of the Ashes of War that were buffed that aren’t usually on your builds. Blood Tax is super quick to chain and works as good as a poke R2, and Chilling Mist and Poison Mist work like a single button flaming strike now. Worth a look?
So I guess it'd be quite fitting to use the... what's it called? The dragon halberd(?) next. Or! You could try out a halberd, whichever, that you haven't used yet. War cry got a hefty buff recently and oh my it is so fun on halberds! And since you're very good at baiting for openings I think you'd have even more fun than I have with it
Showcase request - whatever will allow you to test *sacred blade* AoW like the katana user in this video. I think it has potential now after 1.07 buffs, physick and *golden vow* on your offhand.
Ok it's the shortest katana, has a generic r2, lightning slash can be dodged by strafing and you need the buff to even get status buildup unlike all other katanas ...but wowie blue lightning
Crazy how they nerfed endure already. "had a larger impact on balance than expexted" but idk it seemed the same as endure in DS3, it didnt seem that broken to me.
My weeburai was going to be focused around this weapon just before I stopped, now it might be good for the dlc. Only thing I wished was the art had a little more oomph than a lame slash and follow up lightning strike.
@@Sherudons I understand that. I’m just saying instead of creating a whole new design they could’ve replicated a lightning version of blasphemous blade and it would’ve been 10x better
