I found the Shadow of the Erdtree open areas to hit harder than most of the open areas from the base game. Base game can be configured to stick to mostly 40, even in the open world, but low settings with 960x600 resolution in the open world of Erdtree's areas still dropped to mid-30s. I definitely recommend playing it though, feels so much bigger than a normal expansion!

If you are playing on steam deck and getting inappropriate activity create an empty file in the game directory and name it DLC.bdt it will fix the issue it did for me.

I feel like everything on LOW except AA on medium is the way to go for open world. But indoors areas I turn it all on high again. I basically Change it a lot but its mostly on absolute minimum. Still very enjoyable and looks great compared to most games I play on deck

So funnily enough the game has been stuttering crazily on my monster pc but has been crazy good on steam deck. (Also it was very very public knowledge you had to kill radahn and Mohg to access dlc, also it had a guide on launch day on the Elden ring steam page on how to access it. And fromsoft tweeted it out. And it was on their website for shadow of the erdtree…

steam deck has precompiled shaders, stutters on PC usually when the shaders are compilling.

do not cap at 30fps. my main issue with this game was input lag. until yesterday. try to min-max your your graphics so it runs most of the time at 45/50-60fps. and DO NOT cap.

there is a fix for the online issue. I found it on reddit, you have to delete the file DLC.bdt in the games main folder and the folder named "SD" and remake them as empty text files. They must be deleted entirely, you cannot just open it up and erase any text inside. this should get you back online, if still having issues you may need to restart the deck to get it to register the fix, but then you will be able to start the game without that inappropriate activity message.

if your having trouble with those fights. Look up power leveling videos and easy magic builds. You will have a much easier time as far as this game allows

Im confused how you were clueless on the 2 bosses you had to kill to access dlc…it was only common knowledge for anyone who has been on the internet for months, also that online bug was fixed hours after its release..

Yeah , as far as I can tell the game doesn't tell you how to progress. I was also confused, as I haven't played since I beat the game well over a year ago.

It's standard for Fromsoft DLC to not be instantly accessible. Think of it as end game content and not some extra main game stuff. They create DLC to further challenge their players that have already played and beaten the main game that's been out for two years.

I recommend playing on moonlight 720p the game plays amazing I don’t feel lag and it looks beautiful maxed out settings streamed from pc with rtx 4080 and the best part is I can set the steam deck to 6W and play for 4-5 hours

there is a dude on yt that added frame gen. for elden ring and his game is 60 fps stable on all medium settings sadly , dont own a deck yet but will try when mine comes in 2 weeks

frame gen when u natively hit 30 fps is gonna be very laggy
